Description -

HP is looking for a Repairable Spare Parts Lifecycle Technical Lead to to join our global Reverse and Repair team.

This role owns the end‑to‑end technical lifecycle of the Repairable List, from new spare part repair feasibility through steady‑state execution across multiple repair centers, delivering measurable impact on customer experience and Service P&L.

Key responsibilities:

  • Repairable List Lifecycle & New Repair Introduction (NRI) Ownership - Lead and govern NRI activities across all global repair centers, including technical readiness assessments, repair feasibility evaluation, repair strategy definition, and lifecycle updates. Define refurbishment procedures, test instructions, inspection criteria, and component replacement guidelines. Own the technical planning for NRI execution, including readiness forecasting, parts flow definition, RMA material definition, and global synchronization.

  • Global Repair Process Definition & Standardization - Define, document, and own global repair processes, test definitions, and engineering procedures to ensure consistent execution across all repair centers. Serve as the single global technical authority for repair workflows, including evaluation and implementation of jigs, test beds, automation requirements, and process updates that support repair scalability and robustness.

  • Failure Analysis, Repair Feasibility & Technical Problem Solving - Lead structured failure analysis and root cause investigations for returned or repaired components, driving corrective actions and continuous repair improvements. Perform reverse engineering when required to understand failure modes, assess repair feasibility, and support Repairable List decisions, while serving as the highest-level technical escalation point for complex repair issues.

  • Repair Centers Technical Enablement & Global Synchronization - Provide global technical leadership to repair center engineering teams and ensure correct implementation of repair processes, test methods, jigs, and documentation. Lead cross-site synchronization activities, including parallel implementation, jig duplication, component flow alignment, repair process harmonization, and validation of engineering documentation such as drawings, BOMs, and test requirements.

  • Continuous Improvement, Yield & Quality Performance - Lead continuous improvement initiatives across repair centers to improve yield, MTBR, NFF rates, and NRI cycle time. Identify process inefficiencies and drive workflow redesign to reduce scrap, rework, and repair variability while improving overall customer experience.

  • Cost Reduction - Enable and drive cost reduction initiatives through repairability optimization, NRI-driven savings, refurbishment strategies, and process optimization. Provide technical support for BOM optimization, raw material management, supplier onboarding, and repair cost reduction initiatives.

  • Cross-Functional & External Technical Collaboration - Act as the primary technical interface across repair centers, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Spare Parts organizations, and third-party repair vendors. Ensure technical alignment with engineering change activities (ECOs), configuration updates, and global initiatives impacting repairability.

Education, Skills, and experience

  • B.SC in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

  • 4-6 years in engineering, technical services, or manufacturing technologies – must.

  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking) – must.

  • Very strong technical background with Spare Parts repair/refurbish – advantage.

  • Hands-on experience with Printing industry – advantage.

  • Strong understanding of assemblies (drawings, BOM, wiring diagrams).

  • Proven ability to lead complex activities, projects, and teams without formal authority.

  • Experience with engineering processes: ECO, waivers, investigations.

  • Knowledge with measurement, calibration methods, and use of inspection tools.

  • Experience with PDM/PLM systems.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

  • 10% travel

The position is defined for a two-year period with an option for extension
