Renewal & Sales Associate, Group Benefits

CAN, Manitoba - Full Time Remote Full time

We are looking for a detail‑oriented and client‑focused Renewal & Sales Associate to support group benefits renewals for groups under 50 lives. In this role, you will assess plan performance, negotiate renewal outcomes, recommend plan design options, and work closely with advisors to deliver a strong client experience. Success in this position requires solid technical expertise, strong analytical capabilities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, manage, and negotiate renewals for all group benefit plans under 50 lives, ensuring accurate pricing and timely delivery.

  • Analyze claims experience, plan performance, and rate history to develop appropriate renewal outcomes and recommendations.

  • Recommend plan design modifications and cost‑control strategies that align with client needs and long‑term sustainability.

  • Partner with Account Executives by providing renewal insights and strategic input to support strong client relationships.

  • Present and communicate renewal results clearly to advisors and internal teams, explaining rate drivers and plan implications.

  • Monitor internal systems and tools to ensure all renewal information, rate changes, and plan updates are captured and processed correctly

  • Support a seamless renewal workflow by prioritizing cases effectively, escalating issues when needed, and ensuring renewals progress according to defined timelines.

  • Collaborate with internal teams such as underwriting, operations, and customer service to resolve issues or obtain additional information required to complete renewals.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of underwriting concepts and principles.

  • Understanding of current trends in the group benefits industry.

  • College / University degree or equivalent industry experience

  • CEBS Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation or ability to attain within 3 years

  • Strong negotiation and conflict‑management skills.

  • Excellent time‑management abilities with the capacity to multitask accurately and efficiently.

  • Good knowledge of group life and health products and underwriting practices.

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency with PC tools including MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Sharepoint)

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while managing competing priorities.

  • Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills.

  • Exceptional customer service capabilities.

  • Flexible, empathetic, and adaptable to client needs.

  • Collaborative team player willing to assist where needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with group benefits products, related services, and supporting systems/processes is an asset.
