We are currently hiring for a Reliability Engineer for our Concord, NC site!
Position Description:
Provides support for the maintenance and optimization of the process and utility equipment across Concord to ensure reliable and compliant performance. This position will be responsible for the technical aspects of the maintenance program. This individual will work closely with all levels of operations, maintenance, engineering and quality to identify critical equipment, prioritize critical equipment, analyze critical equipment using established methodologies, develop sound maintenance plans using established predictive and preventive maintenance techniques, monitor established reliability and maintainability metrics to solve equipment reliability and maintenance problems, lower the potential of critical equipment failures, and maintain an expertise on the current technology available for reliability improvements of the equipment and practices. The engineer may be required to perform unique component and system analyses to identify reliability improvements and risk reduction improvements through design modifications and/or various reliability improvement strategies.

- Establish or maintain a series of manufacturing performance metrics to determine significant contributors of manufacturing loss.
- Collect, compile, and interpret data from various sources to determine the significant contributors to manufacturing loss.
- Communicate to a broad audience the interpretation of manufacturing data and establish or facilitate an improvement plan.
- Perform structured problem solving independently or through facilitation with other engineers, technicians, crafts people, and operators.
- Communicate to various levels of the organization the results and recommendations of problem solving.
- Understand the manufacturing equipment and processes and the impact of equipment performance within the manufacturing system.
- Through Leaders, engineers, technicians, and crafts persons, implement resolutions to identified manufacturing losses.
- Implement resolutions to manufacturing losses with business systems that may not exist or are not adequate. Implementation may require independent activity and conflict of others not interested in changing business practices.
- Maintain Manufacturing Capability and Efficiency
- Support of design engineering for the selection and installation of equipment for maintainability and equipment availability.
- Development of component health assessment strategies or Maintenance Strategies with the Process Engineers, technicians, operators and crafts persons for the various process systems. Utilize RCM analysis (FMEA) on systems and components, as necessary
- With the assistance of Process Engineers, technicians, and others, implement recommended actions as developed in the Maintenance Strategies.
- Responsible for ensuring correct application of predictive maintenance technologies across site.
- Assist the Maintenance Organization by improving the efficiency of the work management system.
- CMMS data accuracy and structure
- Spare parts identification and stocking strategy
- Technical expert in the proper use of the CMMS system for documenting equipment history and efficient labor utilization.
- Responsible for predictive maintenance activities within building. Responsibility includes the application of the technology, ensuring equipment coverage, assist with interpretation of data when required, and assist process engineer for planning corrective action when needed.
- Assist Process Engineers in determining sensible data collection to determine equipment performance.
- Assist Process Engineers in determining causes of performance degradation of equipment as required.
- Utilize appropriate techniques and tools (RCA, RCM analysis, failure analysis, etc.) to reduce equipment-related deviations.
- Seek and implement new technologies to enhance equipment performance and availability.
- Provide training necessary for development of technical support personnel (Precision Maintenance, Failure Analysis, etc.).
- Ensure a safe working environment by following safety rules and helping improve the safety culture.
- Approved Mechanical-related Job Plans for CMMS.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field
Additional Skills/Preferences
- Experience using and directing the use of FMEA and RCA processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently without close supervision.
- Adequate interpersonal and communications skills to be able to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Strong computer skills in a variety of software packages (Microsoft Office, etc).
- Ability to work in a safe manner to ensure the safety of self and others.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.
- Strong working knowledge of Maximo or similar EAM systems.
- Previous experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment or process problems.
- Knowledge of automation systems/software to facilitate data collection (data historian, RSView, etc.)
- Working knowledge of FDA Regulations including cGMP and GLP.
- Working knowledge of ISO-9000 standards, IEC standards and industry best practices.
- Working knowledge of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance techniques, including but not limited to Tribology, Vibration Analysis, Thermography, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, equipment installation requirements, etc.
- Ability to make individual, small group and large group presentations.
- Must be able to lead, interact with and coach wide variety of individuals: shop floor mechanics to senior operations and maintenance management.
- Excellent problem solving, teamwork and interpersonal skills and looks for win-win solutions to challenging business and operational issues.
- Ability to make and communicate verbally and in writing, logical decisions using data.
Additional Information
- 8-hour days - Monday through Friday, overtime and some weekend/holiday may be required for project support.
- Travel: Domestic and International travel may be required
- Concord is a 24/7x365 day operation. Off shift/ holiday support may be required.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$66,000 - $96,800
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
