Key Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Relationship Officer Supervisor - Group Lending is responsible for leading and managing a team of Relationship Officers to drive growth in group lending. The role focuses on identifying and recruiting potential clients for saving, Insurance and, ensuring achievement of branch targets in disbursements, portfolio size, and portfolio quality. The Supervisor ensures that all saving, insurance and lending activities comply with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, while providing continuous coaching, performance management, and field support to the team. The position requires strong multitasking ability, effective leadership, and a commitment to disciplined implementation of the group lending products.

Specific responsibilities

  • To supervise and monitors the daily activities of the Relationship Officers
  • Lead and supervise group lending team in conducting accurate marketing and promotion of VFT products
  • Visit and verify all newly formed groups and clients before approval.
  • Monitor field activities by visiting groups and clients.
  • Conduct follow up visits with existing clients according to the monitoring schedule.
  • Handle client complaints promptly and ensure timely resolution.
  • Drive branch performance to achieve targets for Saving, Insurance and Loan related (disbursement, portfolio growth, Portfolio Quality, and number of clients).
  • Support and oversee loan disbursement to ensure compliance with VFT procedures.
  • Hold group lending team meetings to review performance and provide coaching timely
  • Maintain strong portfolio quality through close monitoring and proactive risk management.
  • To conduct regular performance evaluation of the Relationship Officers, and recommends any promotion or termination to the Business Center/Branch Manager and /or Regional Manager.
  • To Ensure 100% on-time collection or enforces “zero tolerance against missed loan payments.”
  • To Perform other tasks as may be prescribed by the Supervisor or Management.

Minimum Qualification.

  • University Degree /Diploma in economics or accounting or finance or business administration. (a master’s degree in the related filed will be an added advantage)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ sales and credit management with at least 1 years’ experience in training and coaching teams. 
  • Advanced knowledge of related statutory and regulatory banking compliance regulations, General Banking or Financial Services Act lending and banking products and services
  • Very good on communication, people management and marketing skills
  • Very good analytical skills (including the use of excel in analyzing data and reporting
