The SVP, Relationship Manager within the National Deposits Group is integral to developing and sustaining essential client relationships in Apple Bank’s Commercial Banking Division by providing deposit solutions that drive revenue growth. Reporting directly to the EVP & Group Manager, this role is tasked with facilitating significant deposit expansion and overseeing complex relationships with prominent commercial clients. The incumbent is responsible for acquiring, developing, and overseeing corporate deposit portfolios, primarily concentrating on core industries within designated business lines. Key duties include cultivating new commercial partnerships, strengthening and sustaining current client relationships, cross-selling treasury management and credit products, and advancing liquidity growth through treasury management offerings, product innovation, and disciplined relationship oversight.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Achieve designated objectives and targets as specified by the Business Head of the National Deposits Group.
- Establish and nurture relationships with commercial clients, acting as a trusted advisor to business partners.
- Generate new client opportunities through strategic networking and collaboration with treasury management and lending teams.
- Manage and expand an existing portfolio of clients.
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities by evaluating prospective client needs and delivering appropriate financial solutions.
- Collaborate with sales, product, and risk teams to design and launch innovative deposit offerings.
- Recommend treasury management, cash management, credit products, and technology solutions that are tailored to individual client requirements.
- Ensure adherence to applicable regulations and proactively manage risks associated with large-deposit volatility.
- Advise management regarding business trends to facilitate the development of new services, products, and pricing strategies.
- Work closely with senior leadership to create business strategies and policies, and to identify targeted industries and markets for growth.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to improve the client experience while effectively mitigating risk.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
SKILLS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10 + years’ experience managing commercial portfolios and client relationships, with proven growth results.
- Strong business development skills in prospecting, structuring, and negotiating complex deals.
- Deep knowledge of liquidity and cash management.
- Ability to assess client needs and match them with bank products and services, turning insights into actionable strategies.
- Advanced skill in financial statement analysis, commercial lending principles, and treasury management platforms.
- Working knowledge of banking operations, credit and risk management, compliance, AML, and fraud prevention.
- Excellent consultative sales and communication skills for building lasting client relationships.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and collaboration abilities across all organizational levels.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, plus solid experience with Word and PowerPoint for models, presentations, and reporting.
- Effective multitasking in fast-paced environments, consistently meeting deadlines and service standards.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, teamwork, and cross-department collaboration for optimal client solutions.
