Who we are looking for

The position of Relationship Manager within the North American Asset Owner Segment is responsible for a number of State Street Asset Owner clients based in the United States. The role presents an opportunity to engage with senior executives both internally and with industry leading asset owners to help shape and drive State Street’s strategy in servicing our key longstanding relationships.


As part of the remit, the Relationship Manager will cultivate a solid understanding of the client’s business and the services provided by State Street, with the objective of optimizing client satisfaction, ensuring that the client experiences a best of breed service at State Street while identifying and driving new business opportunities to close.

The RM both leads and collaborates with their Sales and/or Senior Relationship Manager counterpart in commercial negotiations, and will ensure compliance with contract terms. The RM will also assist in analyzing and managing the client P&L, and will oversee relationship financials.

What you will be responsible for

  • Manage a grouping of client relationships commensurate with a Assistant Vice President title.
  • Strengthen and deepen relationships with our clients. Deliver constant monitoring of the client’s perception of the quality of our services (NPS score), partner with business leads to maintain strong focus on client service and requirements.
  • Manage assigned client(s) to development of new business and/ or products while retaining existing revenue streams.
  • Responsible for achievement of organic, incremental growth, new business committed revenue, and overall target revenue goals with assigned client(s).
  • Prepare account plans and the delivery of business overviews to internal stakeholders for assigned client(s) to include but not limited to pipeline, trending, and year over year analysis.
  • Maintain all relevant data for their assigned accounts in SF360 CRM including but not limited to account information, contacts, opportunities, meetings, current providers insights, and campaigns.
  • Support the deployment of marketing strategies that promote the full range of Company products/services through close collaboration with the various business partners. Introduces new products and service solutions to clients wherever possible.
  • Drive cohesive coordination of State Street Services to the client between client delivery, product groups, regional teams, sales staff and the client to deliver our solutions to the client.
  • Serve as an escalation point for critical service issues or roadblocks. Shepherds issues through to resolution.
  • Prepare and executes client presentations, client meetings, product collaboration, RFPs and sales execution. 
  • Maintain client sentiment tracker on covered clients and supported clients where needed.
  • Manage the finalization of Due Diligence Questionnaires for supported clients when received.
  • Ensure client onboarding for new assets and/or risk management activities are conducted with a high degree of client satisfaction.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or the equivalent.
  • 10+ years of total work experience preferred with 3-5 years of Financial Services experience in Relationship Management/ Sales or Client Service.
  • Knowledge of Financials services industry

Salary Range:

$80,000 - $140,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
