The Regulatory Reporting team plays an important role in the overall success of State Street. What are the key responsibilities of this role

  • Prepare the FOCUS II C and (daily) Large Shareholder reporting in line with reporting instructions and ensure compliance with the regulatory governance framework.
  • Collaborate with data providers and internal teams to gather required reporting related inputs and promptly resolve issues.
  • Implement internal controls, including reconciliations, variance analysis and other preparer and reviewer controls, to mitigate reporting risks and maintain data integrity.
  • Assist in drafting clear, comprehensive responses to regulatory enquiries.
  • Recommend and support automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce manual errors and perform UAT testing on Axiom enhancements. Review interpretation of regulatory instructions to ensure accuracy and completeness of reporting deliverables.
  • Conduct a deep dive of NBPRAs (new products) to assess impact on new reporting. Collaborate with various upstream business and operations teams to understand product related nuances and enhance applicable reporting procedures.
  • Identify and evaluate all data elements using the data governance framework to determine Critical Data Elements (CDEs).
  • Investigate and respond to peer bank enquiries related to instruction interpretations, and reporting approach. 
  • Collaborate with the Regulatory Governance and Compliance teams to ensure adherence with regulatory governance policies and standards.
  • Actively participate in internal and external assurance reviews, manage issue resolution, and develop and execute suitable remediation plans.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and initiatives as required.

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting an end-to-end regulatory reporting lifecycle, working across technology, data, reporting and controls within a financial services environment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment by demonstrating excellent time management and planning skills
  • Prior experience in US regulatory reporting at a global investment bank and knowledge of accounting principles and US GAAP
  • A relationship builder with the ability to establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with business and functional partners at the firm
  • Experience managing initiatives including timelines, stakeholder management, interdependencies resource allocation and senior management communication
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to take ownership, solve problems and improve on existing reporting processes
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clarity on complex topics
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent responsibilities and deadlines

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with US GAAP familiarity required
  • CA, CPA, MBA, or Master’s degree in accounting or finance a plus
  • Background in public accounting or bank reporting
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in a Bank or Financial Institution is a must
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products and able to learn other systems quickly; Business Intelligence tools and Essbase familiarity a plus
  • Working knowledge of Axiom and associated data models and requirements is preferred
