Regulatory Relations Director

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Regulatory Relations (RR) Director on the EMEA Regulatory Relations Team. The EMEA RR team is responsible for supporting regulatory engagements for Wells Fargo’s EMEA businesses, including, but not limited to, regulatory examinations, supervisory meetings, information requests, and responses to regulatory findings. The Regulatory Relations Director will synthesize regulatory feedback across the enterprise and use learnings to advise senior leadership on regulatory strategy. 

 

The EMEA RR Director will manage a team of professionals in providing advice and guidance to EMEA senior leaders and partners, develop the talent of the team and coordinate initiatives across countries and businesses. This role will require regular interaction with regulators and senior leaders across EMEA, Operations, Control, Risk and Legal, as well as the broader Regulatory and Policy Affairs (RAPA) team. 

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the regulation reporting, remediation and governance remediation program and the assessment of all deliverables
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for meeting tight deadlines, manage key stakeholder relationships, and deliver a robust regulatory reporting framework and governance framework for the legal entity
  • Lead multiple business initiatives and change management work streams to deliver improved regulatory reporting and governance framework for the legal entity
  • Work with more experienced management to define the program budget
  • Gather data on resource requirements to support work streams under direct management and subjecting initial estimates to rigorous challenge before presenting them for consolidation
  • Collaborate and influence all management levels and provide expertise to the Chief Executive Officer and other members of the executive team and steering committees
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Regulatory Relations
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy


Required Qualifications for Europe:

  • Experience in Regulatory Relations, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Management or leadership experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience managing response process for regulatory examinations across a broad range of regulatory subject matters, stakeholders and risk types.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with exceptional ability to negotiate and facilitate collaboration at all levels of a highly complex and matrixed organization.
  • Ability to communicate understanding across key stakeholders to drive efficient and concise execution of regulatory engagements
  • Ability to thrive in a highly matrixed organisation and build cross functional relationships
