Surgical Services is seeking a qualified Registry Level 3 Surgical Nurse to support the department during high‑volume periods, weekends, call shifts, and holidays. This role requires a strong clinical skill set, flexibility, and the ability to function independently within a fast‑paced surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct perioperative nursing care in accordance with AORN standards and department policies.
Support staffing needs including weekends, call coverage, and holiday rotations.
Demonstrate competency across multiple surgical specialties or the ability to achieve competency within a defined time frame.
Maintain effective communication with the surgical team to ensure patient safety, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Collaborate with full‑time staff to support continuity of care, workflow, and departmental operations.

Requirements

Current Illinois RN license required.
Minimum one year of RN operating room experience or
– Prior registry surgical nurse experience or
– The ability to train full‑time until competency is achieved.
Must be willing and able to meet all scheduling expectations, including:
- Weekend shifts as assigned
- Call coverage during designated times
- Holiday rotation
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

Work Shift Details:

Registry, Minimum of 48 hours per month, with weekend rotation, call and holiday requirements.

The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
