The North America (NA) Healthcare and Footwear Marketing Manager owns the strategy development and execution in the NA region, leveraging the existing portfolio and leading the identification of needed new product innovation for TPU. This position is also responsible for account management (Healthcare) and Headquarter management (Footwear) aimed at increasing sales in both segments.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Strategy: Develop and manage the mid-to-long term strategy for Healthcare segment in NA in collaboration with internal stakeholders, taking into consideration mega trends. Implement global Footwear strategy in NA.
- New Business: Develop pipeline of new business opportunities with potential customers and decision makers. Develop relationships and work closely with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) engineers and designers (strategic influencers and decision makers), focusing on medical and footwear opportunities to gain specification of Covestro resins in their products.
- Innovation: Direct internal supporting functions, e.g., innovations, operations, product management, PSRA, to ensure existing and new medical and footwear grades are sellable and available in line with market needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare and footwear segment managers in other BEs and countries to ensure awareness and synergies across silos.
- With support of TPU MarComm, implement regional marketing communication for the Healthcare and Footwear industries and coordinate promotional initiatives such as trade shows, social media, e-newsletters.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Business, Marketing or similar with 6+ years’ experience within the fields of marketing, technical sales development and/or resin supplier management within the healthcare, footwear, and/or plastics industry with demonstrated experience in strategy development; OR a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Business, Marketing or similar with 4+ years’ experience within the fields of marketing, technical sales development and/or resin supplier management within the healthcare, footwear, and/or plastics industry with demonstrated experience in strategy development
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years’ experience in healthcare or footwear plastics
Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated understanding of the healthcare and/or footwear plastics industry and applications.
- Willingness to travel 25-40% as needed, including internationally
- Customer-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills in dealing with internal and external partners
- Requires organizational savvy and analytical skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess initiative and can work under pressure.
