Regional Sales Manager

Job Summary

The primary objective is to manage the sales territory and promote our specifiable and traditional piping products while meeting or exceeding our growth goals. The position requires the individual to develop and execute sales strategies, network with our customers including distributor partners, contractors, engineers and end-users while developing long-term, trusting relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Be a champion for IPEX products
  • Plan and allocate time and resources to ensure sales objectives will meet the goals outlined in the company business plan
  • Interacts with internal departments, such as Customer Service, Operations and Marketing regarding pricing, delivery, training, product manufacturing and availability. Ensures that accurate information is effectively disseminated, and that cooperation is maintained between departments
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with wholesalers. Establishes conditions of sale and regional product selling prices
  • Provides formal and informal technical education and on-site training to Consulting Engineers, Municipal Engineers, Contractors and Distributors regarding IPEX’s products
  • Regularly visit customers within the assigned territory for the purpose of promoting products, providing technical services and building relationships
  • Regularly travel to visit customer locations, both by car and air travel. Be prepared to arrange your travel plans (hotel bookings, airfare etc) and organize visits and other duties outlined below in coordination with our customers and as outlined by the US Sales Manager
  • Utilize CRM software to manage customer interactions and ensure the system is consistently updated for accurate and timely reporting
  • Within the assigned territory, have a constant eye on order patterns, current backlog, service levels and products purchased

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering is an asset; Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering, and Business Administration/Marketing
  • 5–7 years’ experience in sales and sales management; industrial and plumbing industry experience are preferred
  • Strong technical, analytical, negotiating and communication skills are required
  • Effective presentation skills involve creating well-structured, visually appealing content and delivering it confidently while engaging an audience
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with CRM software

Work Conditions

  • Nearly always work indoors in corporate office environment with long periods of sitting
  • Employee may experience progressive degrees of changing factors in the work process (changing work priorities, deadlines, accuracy, quotas, conflicting demands)
  • Employee may be exposed to a minimal level of hazards in the work environment, such as chemicals, commercial products, exposure to potential toxins, moving machinery, repetitive motion, excessive noise, powered industrial vehicle fork/reach/ bucket lift/other
  • May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels

Travel

  • Required travel up to 80-100 nights per year
