Main Purpose

As a key member of the Talent Acquisition team, this role is responsible for attracting high-calibre talent across North America, supporting the firm’s commercial, functional, and growth priorities. The position manages end-to-end recruitment across multiple functions and seniority level, with a high degree of autonomy whilst aligning with global standards.

Reporting to the Global Head of Talent Acquisition, the successful candidate will partner closely with senior hiring managers across the United States and Canada. Working as part of both the regional and global TA teams, the role plays a pivotal part in identifying, engaging, and securing top talent in highly competitive markets, contributing directly to the firm’s continued growth in North America.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment Delivery

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment at all levels across all functions within the North America region, with primary focus on roles in Houston, Calgary and Denver

  • Place strong emphasis on direct hiring, with selective and occasional use of external vendors where required

  • Partner with Hiring Managers to assess talent needs and provide expertise and guidance around hiring plans and strategy, driving the full recruiting process

  • Proactively source passive candidates through various channels and initiatives to build and maintain talent pipelines for critical and recurring roles

  • Conduct thorough HR interviews to assess both technical baseline and competency skills/culture fit as required

  • Support graduate hiring initiatives and trader assessment processes in the region

  • Provide training and guidance to Hiring Managers and stakeholders on recruitment processes and candidate assessments

Employer Branding & Marketing

  • Represent the firm at targeted industry, university, and networking events across key North American markets, strengthening the company’s visibility and talent pipeline.

  • Support regional employer branding initiatives to articulate the firm’s distinctive culture and value proposition to high-calibre candidates.

Global TA Collaboration

  • Work as part of the global Talent Acquisition team to support other regions when required, and contribute to global TA initiatives and technology projects

  • Share market insights and best practices across regions to support a globally consistent hiring approach

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years experience in talent acquisition/recruitment within commodity trading

  • Proven direct sourcing capability across active and passive candidate pools

  • Experience supporting hiring across multiple locations and time zones

  • Proficiency with ATS platforms and LinkedIn Recruiter (Workday preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Technology recruitment

  • Understanding of the commodity trading industry is beneficial

Department Overview

The Talent Acquisition team sits within Trafigura's global Human Resources function, reporting to the Global Head of Talent Acquisition based in Geneva. The team operates as a true business partner to the organisation, supporting hiring across all levels and geographies. This Regional Recruiter will work alongside an existing Regional Recruiter in Houston and collaborate closely with colleagues across Geneva, Athens, Montevideo, Mumbai, and Singapore.
