Reporting to the Global Marketing Leader for Aero & Industrials, the AP Regional Growth Marketing Manager (RMM) will be responsible for setting and leading the implementation of the regional market growth strategy (China focus) for the MOLYKOTE® business (all markets including automotive, industrial & other), tackling some of the hardest wear and friction challenges, identifying new business models & use cases, while creating a collaborative cross-functional and cross-regional growth mindset throughout the organization.

As a local champion of strategic marketing functional competencies, this role will develop a deep understanding of regional market trends, competitive landscape, and needs based customer segmentation by market, as well as, outline & execute the regional implementation and communication plans.  The Regional Marketing Manager will be accountable for the medium and long-term demand generation, growth of the business and for supporting the commercial team with regional insights to facilitate accurate demand planning, pricing, and customer targeting at the segment-technology level.

The ideal candidate is expected to personally demonstrate and cultivate a strong external focus and proactively develop close working relationships with key local customers and stakeholders within the market segments that they supportAdditionally, the ideal candidate will have direct working experience in specialty lubricants applications. 

The Regional Marketing Manager will also be given the opportunity to support development of a global where to play/ how to win marketing strategy for identified global market segments and write formal marketing plans.  They will work in conjunction with technical leaders to align on action plans around innovations, product launches, and application case studies.

Key Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Develop regional execution and value proposition: Lead regional execution of market plan for MOLYKOTE® by closely working with cross-functional team(s) in Asia-Pacific (AP) in the context of local competitive environment and regional/market needs.
  • Develop marketing strategies and execution plans for pricing and route to market, aligned with global market segment strategies, and optimized for regional customer needs-based segmentation.
  • Monitor & actively manage sales pipeline at the customer level to have clarity on how to drive both short- and long-term growth as well as innovation strategies.
  • Collaborate with regional sales and technology leadership to ensure resources are effectively prioritized and aligned with market segment-technology objectives. 
  • Evaluate customer needs and preferences to identify market trends, new markets, and new innovations.  Drive execution of innovation launches and own resulting regional growth performance.
  • Leverage industry knowledge and market research to identify opportunities for regional expansion and providing the sales team targeted customer lists and customer profiles.
  • Identify & connect to leading & relevant, customers, prospects & other key influencers, in our value chain.
  • Innovation Portfolio: Works with regional sales team to develop business case(s) of innovation opportunities and regional growth portfolio to capture value and ensure sustainable growth of MOLYKOTE®.
  • Monitor competition with support of customer facing team & execute competitive analysis in region per segment, proactively communicate local needs and growth ideas to key stakeholders.
  • Pricing: Responsible for determining the value proposition of the product and the local pricing guidelines for new product developments.
  • Partner with marketing communications to develop & implement appropriate communication strategies, including editorials, press releases, webinars, other digital and traditional media, as well as thought leadership where applicable.  Own website content and updates for identified market segments to be implemented by marketing communications.  This is not a marketing communications role.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, tribology or another related field, MBA is a plus
  • 5-10 years of marketing and market/product development experience, channel management experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen with ability to collect and analyze data and communicate insights effectively.
  • Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar markets through primary research and analysis and develop strategic plans to address those markets.
  • A highly motivated and results-driven professional with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A change agent who conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure.
  • Demonstrated success in working in diverse, cross functional teams.
  • Solid organization skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.  Strong project management expertise. A strategic thinker.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Travel: This position requires 25% travel across AP (mainly China & at times more)
  • Language: English and another Asia-Pacific language (Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, etc)
