POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State is currently seeking a Regional Director of Affiliate Groups, Penn State Alumni Association in supporting the Penn State Alumni Association’s volunteer engagement team. This role requires occasional work in the evenings and weekends. As a member of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, you can play an integral role in Penn State’s future and contribute to one of the most successful fundraising and alumni relations operations in the country.

Reporting to the Director, Volunteer Engagement and working closely with the Alumni Association’s Volunteer Engagement team, as well as other partners, the Regional Director of Affiliate Groups will:

  • Provide coaching, direction, and strategy to the Alumni Association’s network of geographic chapters and their boards, volunteers, etc.

  • Articulate Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values through excellent informal and formal communications.

  • Develop, plan, and execute the strategy and execution of volunteer management within the geographic portfolio of chapters.

  • Partner with select audiences and groups to plan and execute activities ensuring collaborative relationships with the Association.

  • Provide strategic direction and support with respect to volunteer engagement opportunities for our diverse community of alumni and friends. Evaluate existing programs and services and utilize results to determine strategies to best support the changing needs for volunteer opportunities.

  • Lead, coach, and supervise volunteers to achieve goals.

  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders including University departments and Division colleagues.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Six (6) years of combined experience with alumni and student engagement and advising, volunteer management, stewardship, supervision, and financial oversight.

  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.

  • The ability to create and maintain an inclusive and respectful environment for all students and colleagues.

  • Ability to manage a complex program and build relationships with students, alumni, and friends.

  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

  • Develop and produce internal and external presentations, proposals, and reports for the Alumni Association and others.

  • A proven ability to motivate and work both independently and as part of a team.

  • A commitment to professional development, learning, and being mentored.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree 6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $68,200.00 - $102,300.00.
