JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities:
Assisting in scheduling student staff
Recruiting, hire, onboard, and evaluate student staff with professional staff oversight.
Assisting in outreach opportunities
Lead, train, and support student staff
Assist in leading student staff meetings
Oversee departmental special events such as Fall staff training and Spring staff trainings and attend retreats
Expectations:
Act as an extension of professional staff
Strong platform of campus recreation knowledge
Working closely with the marketing and the creative design team
Job performance may include all the duties and responsibilities of positions in lower tier levels.
Requirements:
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to positively interact with student staff and patrons
Complete all required Penn State LRN trainings
Ability to work independently
Minimum of 1 year of Campus Recreation employment preferred
Working conditions:
Work a minimum of 12-17 hours per week
Must be able to accommodate a variable work schedule that may include early morning, late evenings, and/or weekends.
Senior Student Managers will be working in one following areas:
IM Building, Outdoor Adventures, Aquatics, Fitness & Wellbeing, Competitive Sports, White Building, Tennis Center, Memberships, Stone Valley Recreation Center.
