As Regional Data Steward for our Sales & Service Region Eastern Europe, you will be part of an international data management community within the KION Group. Operating in a strong global brand alliance between Linde Material Handling and STILL, you will act as the regional custodian for the Customer Data, Equipment Data or Sales Materials and Sales Routings Data domain, ensuring high data quality, compliance, and effective use in line with global standards.
In this role, you execute global data governance policies and standards regionally with the support of local data Key Users and serve as the primary regional contact for data-related questions, issues, and change requests. You collaborate closely with Global Data Stewards and Data Owners in a federal approach to ensure the adherence to GDPR and regional compliance requirements, coordinate data lifecycle activities, and actively promote data literacy through training and enablement. Your day-to-day work is shaped by cross-functional, multicultural collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives in a dynamic business environment.
Your Main Responsibilities as Regional Data Steward for designated data domains within the Sales & Service Region Eastern Europe as part of the KION Group Data Management Organization:
Apply global standards and definitions as well as drive regional enhancements with Global Data Stewards and local Key Users
Monitor and improve data quality KPIs (completeness, accuracy, timeliness, consistency, uniqueness) via profiling, validation, as well as cleansing and manage mass corrections
Govern master/reference data lifecycle (requests, approvals, changes, retirement) and maintain metadata/business glossaries aligned with global policies
Coordinate access, security, and compliance and handle data access inquiries and approvals as well as support migrations and cutovers to ensure data readiness
Provide advanced support and enablement: resolve regional issues with IT and Global Data Stewards, capture requirements, and assess impacts, communicate updates, as well as deliver training to build data literacy
The following skills and competencies are required for this position:
You have a degree or equivalent practical experiences in Data Management, (Business) Informatics, Engineering, or Business Administration
Hands on experience with data management tools (e.g. SAP, Excel) and operational master data maintenance for several years
Strong grasp of data processes, data quality techniques, data modeling basics, and integrated IT landscapes
Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and reliability
Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders about data related topics at management and operational level
Strong written and spoken English skills
Readiness for occasional regional travel for workshops, audits, and Go‑Lives (in deployment up to 50%)
Having data management certifications (e.g. CDMO, DAMA), being familiar with agile project methods as well as having additional language skills in German or any other Eastern European language is advantageous
