About the role:
This role is responsible for driving industry leading activation in-market across several regions. Role exists to ensure local market nuance is considered in order to drive “at scale” national programs and platforms and focus on supporting and driving brilliant retail and market activation.
Role will drive commercial activation in market and will partner with local Diageo sales teams and distributors to ensure your markets have the right tools to activate in the right accounts to win at retail to help achieve our Annual Operating Plan for Diageo Beer and Premix Company.
Key Outputs / Deliverables:
Communication- this role will lead all marketing communication to the field sales team
Distill, comprehend and communicate marketing activity weekly
Provide insights to Activation + Brand marketing teams
Effectively advocate for your markets needs, issues/opps with central teams
Inspire and inform the Diageo/Distributor sales teams in the market on brand strategies, investment and resources
Develop monthly cadence with Sales Directors and Chain Teams
Commercial Planning- Own full planning process for assigned regions and marketing funds
Influence and Provide input into annual planning process and develop localized execution programs that align to “strategic big bets”.
Allocate Funding in relations to promotional spends, POS-Merch, PR – Experiential Events, etc.
Track and measure budgets and stay within Diageo compliance
Drive national and localized marketing programs with distributors & key customers
Agency Management: responsible for managing 3rd party resources for assigned regions
Collaborate with regions to ensure Agency Field Teams, Promotional Teams, Brand Ambassadors are resourced properly
Driving clear KPI’s for region and performance opportunities; ensure commercial activation activities with agencies are delivering targets
Budget Management responsibilities that must be focused against the right activation in the right account to drive scalable execution
Sponsorships & Event Management–responsible for managing and executing against national and local sponsorships in assigned regions
Identify key sponsorships within region to activate
Customize national sponsorships
Work with trade + activation marketing team to provide assets that extend sponsorships locally
Evaluate region requests for festivals and events and provide direction
Role Responsibilities:
Accountable & Responsible for the success of transforming how we plan and activate at retail in your market. Ensuring that our brands show up consistently across markets and that we focus our investments against the biggest opportunities for Diageo, activate the right brads in the right accounts.
· Influential across many different stakeholders – Sales Teams, Performance management team, Brand, agency partners, and local distributor teams
· Project Management Skills will be important as role requires individual to wear many hats and manage volume of brands/activations across market
· Decision Marking: Comfortable making quick decisions ones that are not always popular and with pace
· Measurement & Evaluation will be important to help inform what’s working and what’s not and corrective actions will be made at pace – armed with good M&E

Experience / skills required:
· Strong Commercial and/or Marketing Experience needed (+5-7years)
· Insight and understanding of Off, On-Premise & Non-Premise Event execution
· Must have strong influencing, negotiation skills and conflict management skills
· Financially astute and must able to manage budget across multiple spend types and vendors
· Is an excellent multi-tasker with strong organization management skills
