Recruitment Specialist - Talent Acquisition - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

The incumbent is responsible for full-cycle recruitment of various positions throughout the organization. He/she will be responsible for sourcing, pre-screening, interviewing and referring qualified candidates to respective hiring departments. Targeting the best qualified candidates, this recruiter will develop strategies to attract and retain staff as well as provide support to new hires. The recruiter conducts interviews and makes recommendations regarding the hiring of employees. This person will also coordinate, promote, attend, and participate in recruitment events. He/she will also assist the department and team with special projects as it relates to HR functions. Examples of special projects include but are not limited to participating in OnBoarding of new hires, assisting with coordinating travel for staff and candidates, attending meetings and reporting on current nurse recruitment initiatives, assisting HR department and organization during regulatory surveys conducting research and investigations related to labor related issues/grievances, as well as other duties and projects as assigned.

Essential Duties:

  • Manages and Leads the full-cycle recruitment process for all levels of various positions including staff and leadership positions for Keck Medicine of USC.
  • Researches new ideas in order to develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies to attract active and passive candidates. Creates and recommends appropriate strategy and budget for sourcing strategy.
  • Continually reevaluates sourcing and recruitment strategy for opportunities to improve/modify such strategy based on the results and effectiveness.
  • Conducts interviews and provides recommendations for hiring decisions.
  • Develops job descriptions and successful candidate profiles as appropriate
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge and facilitates resolution of questions and issues that arise from concerns or interest in any policy, procedure, program or benefits.
  • Conducts research and investigation for any labor and/or employee relations issues/grievances.
  • Performs a salary analysis and provides a recommended salary based on years of experience and external market data/competitiveness, while maintaining internal equity.
  • Provides support and training to hiring leaders as it relates to the entire recruitment process.
  • Maintains warm, courteous and professional behavior while acting as a resource to employees, managers and all customers.
  • Ensures entire pre-employment screening process is complete and clear for all his/her new hires prior to onboarding.
  • Administers skills assessments to candidates.
  • Posts on additional sites as needed and works with HSC Marketing and/or advertising agencies in ad placement or development of creative design per approved department/facility protocol.
  • Partners with HR Director to resolve any unusual hiring issues or concerning interviewing/hiring practices.
  • Develops training tools/process outlines for hiring managers.
  • Assists with research of, preparation for, and attends job fairs as needed.
  • Prepares special reports, charts and spreadsheets upon request.
  • Assists in the development of relationships with affiliated schools and associations.
  • Delivers and negotiates offers of employment.
  • Updates ATS as positions are filled and ensures all applicants are properly dispositioned and notified.
  • Assists in maintaining an atmosphere of cooperation with other departments and professionals.
  • Maintains positive, professional and collaborative working relationships with co-workers.
  • Maintains confidentiality regarding employee and patient information.
  • Exhibits professional behavior in accordance with the expectations of the organization and its management.
  • Handles difficult situations in a discreet and professional manner.
  • Appearance is professional and in accordance with hospital dress code.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req High school or equivalent
  • Req Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Req Previous experience in Recruitment or Human Resources required.
  • Req Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Req Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior.
  • Req Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel), PC literacy.
  • Req Able to function independently and as a member of a team.
  • Req Demonstrates ability to utilize effective, appropriate and diplomatic oral and written communication skills.
  • Req Proficient analytical thinking and creative skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pref 3 years 3 to 5 year’s experience working as an IT Recruiter in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Pref Recruitment for union positions strongly preferred.
  • Pref Recruitment experience in an academic medical center strongly preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The annual base salary range for this position is $81,120.00 - $133,010.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
