Shape the future of international student recruitment through dynamic events, strategic partnerships and direct student engagement!

Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where no two days are the same, coordinating large-scale events, engaging directly with prospective students, and building meaningful relationships with partners and stakeholders? If so, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.

Macquarie University's Future Students team is seeking a Recruitment Officer, International to play a pivotal role in delivering the University's onshore international student recruitment strategy. In a rapidly evolving landscape shaped by shifting government policy settings, changes to onshore agent commission structures, and growing demand for direct, student-facing engagement, this role is central to ensuring Macquarie remains responsive, competitive, and connected to emerging opportunities.

Working under the guidance of the Onshore Recruitment Lead, you will be at the heart of our recruitment events program, coordinating and delivering large-scale agent familiarisation visits, study tours, institutional workshops, and student-centred promotional activities. Beyond events, you will support strategic initiatives including onshore undergraduate-to-postgraduate conversion, closer collaboration with the domestic school’s team, and improved tracking and evaluation of recruitment outcomes to drive efficiency and impact.

About the Role

This role sits within the Future Students, International Recruitment Team in the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, People and Operations portfolio. Future Students leads the University's recruitment operations, supported by a well-established offshore recruitment network and comprehensive global partnership network. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and delivering programs, projects and activities that support the recruitment of prospective international students, including online and in-person student recruitment events and agent engagement activities.

  • Supporting the planning, logistics and hands-on delivery of large-scale signature onshore events such as education agent familiarisation trips, study tours and institutional workshops.

  • Working closely with the Onshore Recruitment Lead and the Domestic Recruitment team to implement promotional activities focused on high school engagement, student-centred events and onshore Undergraduate to Postgraduate conversion initiatives.

  • Collaborating with the wider Future Students team to create, update and ensure currency of recruitment collateral and promotional materials across print and digital channels.

  • Collating and analysing data and contributing to the preparation of reports and presentations that deliver insights into the onshore recruitment market, supporting evidence-based decision making.

  • Attending student events and providing advice including one-on-one guidance to prospective international students on courses, admissions and selection processes.

  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders (including recruitment, admissions, marketing and academic teams) and external partners (pathway providers, schools, agents and suppliers) to drive growth in applications and enrolments.

  • Supporting the manager to scope project requirements, monitor and track delivery against timelines and budgets, evaluate outcomes and report on achievements.

  • Maintaining a current working knowledge of all faculty offerings, admissions cycles, entry programs and the broader higher education sector.
