Summary

Develop and administer a comprehensive Recruitment Program for the health system including responsibility for recruitment of nursing and allied health staff.

Major Job Functions

The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job.  The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below.  In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:

  • Coordinate recruitment and employment process, ensuring appropriate applicant flow and employment procedures are followed so that vacancies are filled with highly competent applicants

  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain ongoing relationships with hiring managers to understand the business unit, recruitment needs and maintain strong rapport with key leaders in the department

  • Coordinate recruitment advertising to achieve the most effective placement for recruitment effort

  • Work with community partners and workforce development organizations to create new relationships and maintain existing partnerships while planning events accordingly

  • Plan and attend formal recruitment functions offering opportunities for networking as well as immediate placements

  • Utilize appropriate interviewing techniques and excellent interpersonal skills, and in accordance with applicable law, interviews, and screens external applicants

  • Assist employees requesting transfers and other services, to ensure internal applicants are aware of appropriate opportunities within the health system

  • Provides guidance throughout the hiring process from job posting to selection of final candidate

  • Provides regular updates and feedback to managers and candidates

  • Conduct follow‑up interviews for new hires and exit inter­views for staff terminating in areas recruited

  • Communi­cate results of interviews in form of recommendations for action

  • Attend state Recruiter's meetings, benchmarks with other facilities and reports on effective recruitment strategies used by other organization.

  • Maintain up‑to‑date information on competitor salaries, benefits, and recruitment or retention strategies

  • Manage applicant tracking system and maintain accurate and current applicant database

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:

Education and Formal Training

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing/Communication or related field required OR 4 years recruitment related experience in a fast-paced corporate environment may be considered in lieu of degree

Work Experience

  • 2 years of previous Recruiting experience required

  • 1 year experience in a human resource function preferred

  • 1 year computer data entry experience with emphasis on reporting structure preferred 

  • 1 year experience in ATS, Workday preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Numerical ability to prepare and interpret statistical reports

  • Ability to present in a professional manner to groups

  • Ability to collect, organize and interpret data from personal interviews, application forms, and letters of recommendation to assist in making proper placement

  • Knowledge of applicable computer applications, (i.e. applicant tracking systems)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate orally

  • Job requires frequent travel­ing, often unaccompanied

  • Lift and carry displays and other recruitment materials

  • Set up and arrange displays and greet visitors at the displays
