Job Description Summary
The Senior Accountant will support the financial close processes for the US, Cushman & Wakefield’s largest and most profitable region as well all geographies included in the Americas Region. He/she will own specific areas of the close and be a key resource to other groups within the organization. This role will learn steady state processes and have the opportunity to recommend redesigns or improvements.
While the R2R strives to develop team members through cross-training or transitioning areas of work, this Senior Accountant will have initial focus areas that would include fixed assets, prepaids, accruals and internal financial reporting responsibilities.
Job Description
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with FP&A, FSC (Accenture team based in India) and other stakeholders to drive effective coordination and communication throughout the monthly close process
- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries to the general ledger ensuring data integrity and accuracy
- Complete, review, and enhance assigned monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations within established timelines to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger maintenance
- Responsible for monthly/quarterly trend and budget variance explanations
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to refine procedures, improve processes, strengthen controls and policies, research transactions, prepare proposed journal entries, and support leadership reporting for areas requiring judgment
- Review and approve work prepared by the FSC while providing oversight and performance feedback on a regular basis in regard to areas of responsibility
- Research and respond to internal and external accounting/financial questions and resolve issues
- Prepare audit deliverables, respond to auditor inquiries, and help strengthen the internal and external audit relationship
- Oversee internal controls within assigned responsibilities and ensure adherence to SOX compliance requirements for a public company
- Effectively utilize the Company’s financial reporting tools (Workday, Essbase, HFM, OneStream) to improve the efficiency of the monthly close processes
- Be an enthusiastic ambassador of the company culture to support the continuous improvement mindset and collaborative work environment across functions
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3+ years in accounting roles, preferably with financial close experience
- Strong knowledge of ERPs and database software packages
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Effective and efficient time management and organization skills
- Detail oriented and thorough
- Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-directed individual who is comfortable working in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and be comfortable explaining accounting concepts to people with non-financial backgrounds
- Ability to quickly adapt and learn in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with high initiative, flexibility, and team approach to work
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA
- Public Accounting experience
- Fixed Assets experience

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
The compensation for the position is: $ 76,500.00 - $90,000.00
