What You Will Be Doing At Woodard & Curran:

 

Woodard & Curran is seeking a Reclaimed Water Technician I for our Water Conserv II project in Winter Garden, FL.  The Reclaimed Water Technician I is responsible for operating and monitoring the transmission pipeline, Distribution Center pumping system, distribution network, Rapid Infiltration Basins (RIBs) and all associated components at Water Conserv II. This position monitors the SCADA system, daily reclaimed water sample collection and testing, weekly and monthly flow meter readings, as well as weekly field collection of groundwater levels, and rainfall amounts in order to maintain quality control and permit compliance.  If you enjoy working both indoors and outdoors protecting nature’s precious resource, water, then this position is for you.  Woodard & Curran is dedicated to our employee’s growth and development and wants to help you on your career path.

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Learn, operate and monitor SCADA computer systems.
  • Accurately record and interpret a variety of reporting data.
  • Work shifts unsupervised, rotating shifts, and shifts that include weekend or holiday duty.
  • Work inside and outside in environments with noise and all temperatures and environmental conditions and must be able to work under adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.

 

Schedule: This position will operate on a rotating shift schedule.

 

 

What You Will Need To Succeed:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have completed high school level courses in math and English.  Completion of courses in chemistry, biology and environmental sciences would be a plus.
  • Requires good math, reading, writing, and verbal communication skills; a scientific and mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read, interpret and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles, and other equipment. 
  • The following certifications are preferred but not required:
    • Florida Limited Lawn Certification
    • Florida DEP Surface and Groundwater Sampling Course
    • FW&PCOA Reclaimed Water Field Site Inspector Certification
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License, have a safe driving record, and be able to operate vehicles with automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
