This position pays $25.35 to $28.40. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Essential Functions

  • Responds in a positive fashion to the direction of a shift supervisor or lead, participating in departmental/cell team functions
  • May need to operate the following equipment in a safe and efficient manner: forklift, order picker, hand and air driven banding and crimping tools, lift tables, small hand tools, weigh scales, air driven staple/nail guns, hand-held barcode scanners, and computers
  • Unload, inspect and receive product coming in on trucks, identify where they get put away, do the correct terminal transactions to bring the inventory into site.
  • Maintains housekeeping and safety standards
  • Demonstrates effective and proper communication skills, being a willing and effective team player
  • Responsible for safety, productivity, quality, and personal behavior
  • Recognize major parts to sight (most crateline and high volume parts)
  • Work varying shifts as required for business needs

 Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Computer use including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and ERP system (IFS)
  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, read, write, and count accurately
  • The ability to work with wood and small hand tools such as tape measures, crimping tools, scales, banders, and air-driven staple/nail guns
  • The ability to stand, bend, push, pull, climb, lift and walk
  • The ability to work over ten hours a week in overtime when required for business needs

Other Important Details about the Role:

  • The ability to operate forklifts, shag trucks, or weigh counting scales
  • An understanding of documents pertaining to unloading trucks
  • The ability to identify information (amounts, weights, measurements) of incoming items to verify information against the bill of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
  • An acceptable work history and attendance record
  • Material handling and inventory experience
  • A satisfactory safety record and constant awareness of others safety as well as their own
  • May be trained to work in more than one of the following areas: overhead cranes, shipping, and material handling
  • Candidate reports to Production Control & Receiving Supervisor

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications

  • Prior receiving experience
  • Experience using radio frequency scanners

SKILL

Educational Background

  • Must be able to read, write, and understand plainly written documents in English such as order pick lists, move tags, part orders, and rejected tags. Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
  • Do simple math (add, subtract, divide and multiply both whole numbers and fractions).
  • Possess legible penmanship.
  • Use a calculator
  • Use a computer

Job Training Skill Development

Employees with the above mentioned educational background and skills have to be able to successfully perform 5 of the following 24 essential functions of this job. The 5 tasks can be learned in approximately 2 years.  Previous related work experience could shorten the training time. Once the employee is successfully performing 7 of the following essential functions and able to meet departmental needs, the employee is eligible to transition into a receiver 2 role. 

Decision Making

Employee makes routine decisions. Will need to follow both verbal and written instructions in English. Most of this job is covered by standard practices. Use of good common sense and quality control procedures are essential aspects of completing this job in a successful manner. The employee should be able to recognize major errors in shipping and parts orders paperwork, recognize weight discrepancies, misidentified parts etc. and bring them to the attention of appropriate personnel.

EFFORT

Physical Effort

Physical effort consists of continuous standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting. The pushing, pulling and lifting will range from 0-50 lbs. depending on job assignment. Although some items weigh more the employee should never have to lift more than 50 lbs. Must be able to withstand this effort for the duration of designated shift. Must work at a pace to enable the cell/department to attain set and agreed upon goals.
