The Opportunity
 

Join Hitachi Energy’s Power Electronics R&D organization and take a leading role in shaping next‑generation converter technologies that enable the global energy transition. As the R&D Team Leader, you will guide a multidisciplinary team of engineers in developing innovative, efficient, and high‑performance solutions that support renewable integration, energy storage, power quality, and electrified transportation. Working in a dynamic, collaborative environment, you’ll help grow the Krakow Power Electronics hub, foster a strong team culture, and drive impactful R&D initiatives that push the boundaries of technology and deliver meaningful contributions to a carbon‑neutral future.
 

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Lead, develop, and expand a multidisciplinary R&D team, shaping a shared vision aligned with organizational strategy

  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and long‑term capability development across products and processes

  • Ensure consistent execution and documentation of hardware, verification, and validation methods

  • Foster strong cross‑functional collaboration with product management, portfolio teams, and technology groups

  • Allocate resources across multiple Scrum teams and work with Scrum Masters to enable high‑performance agile delivery

  • Oversee team and project budgets, ensuring technical excellence and financial accountability

  • Strengthen competencies through structured recruitment, mentoring, and knowledge‑sharing

  • Coordinate project execution within your technical domain to ensure timely delivery, quality outcomes, and effective transfer of results
     

Your Background

  • 5+ years of R&D experience and at least 3 years leading R&D or technical engineering teams

  • MSc or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related engineering field

  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies and proven ability to work in multicultural, cross‑functional environments

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills with a solutions‑oriented mindset

  • Experience with product development processes, quality assurance, and functional leadership roles (e.g., technical lead or project manager)

  • High levels of initiative, curiosity, resilience, and fluency in English
