Under the direction and supervision of a technologist, assists in performing imaging examinations. As part of the imaging program, this internship is designed to expose students to direct practice in the field of imaging while completing a required accredited Radiology, Ultrasound or Nuclear Medicine Technology program. Participates in and contributes to department projects to receive introductory work experience related to imaging activities.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification
CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
Education
Current enrollment in an accredited school of radiology and must be in junior or senior year.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision.
Basic computer skills to operate a computer efficiently and effectively.
Working knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to understand detailed instructions.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact courteously and tactfully with patients, parents/families and members of the health care team.
This is a very flexible schedule that works around your school hours, which includes evenings and weekend hours. Location would float between our Forest Home Clinic and New Berlin Clinic.
