Are you ready to be a key player in shaping cutting-edge electronic warfare systems? As a Radio Frequency (RF) Production Test Engineer (PTE) at Raytheon’s Electronic Warfare Systems in sunny Goleta, CA, you’ll have the opportunity to design, develop, and validate advanced testing solutions for our state-of-the-art Electronic Warfare (EW) and Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) products.  

What You Will Do

  • Assist in the development and execution of automated test systems and validation procedures. 
  • Troubleshoot and provide accurate rework instructions for the product hardware. 
  • Participate in projects to reduce test time, improve the test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure modes, and test yields. 
  • Develop test flows and contribute to test capacity analysis. 
  • Maintain changes to the test equipment technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, and system software. 
  • Assist in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of the product or test equipment. 
  • Support root cause and corrective action investigations and present findings, utilizing fault trees and knowledge point plans

What You Will Learn

  • Develop foundational skills in Radio Frequency (RF) testing, automation, and system validation while working with industry-leading tools like NI LabVIEW and Python. 
  • Gain exposure to automated test engineer (ATE) test station design and Radio Frequency (RF) characterization. 
  • Build your expertise in debugging and analyzing electronic systems within a collaborative and impactful environment. 

Qualifications You Must Have  

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in Test Engineering, Test Automation, Electronic Equipment Control, and/or Test Validation.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) components and specifications. 
  • Basic knowledge or experience with tools such as NI LabVIEW and/or Python programming. 
  • Experience with hands-on hardware integration and troubleshooting 
  • Experience in Manufacturing environment 
  • Experience with technical writing 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment  
  • Experience with interpretation of technical documentation 
  • Experience with data analysis. 
  • Exposure to automated equipment control and test automation tools. 
  • Basic experience in developing or executing validation and test procedures.
  • Knowledge of electronic testing of Radio Frequency (RF) based systems, including the use of basic test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
