Job Title: Radio Frequency Analyst (SME)
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD
Clearance Level: TS/SCI
Travel: Up to 25%
As part of the Agile Defense team supporting the National Security Innovation Network (NSIN) and the Interagency Intelligence and Cyber Operations Network (ICON), you will work alongside government and industry partners to support cyber intelligence operations, digital network exploitation, and operational effectiveness across a diverse set of national security missions. NSIN, a program office within the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), builds communities of innovators to develop solutions to national security challenges in support of the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and other government organizations. Through ICON, NSIN delivers intelligence and cyber capabilities to a broad range of mission partners, including U.S. Cyber Command, Cyber Mission Forces, Combatant Commands, Intelligence Community organizations, and DoD components. In this role, you will directly support cyber intelligence and network exploitation activities contributing to mission execution across cyber intelligence operations, defensive and offensive cyber operations, and DoD information network operations.
SUMMARY
As a Radio Frequency (RF) Analyst, you will support mission-critical national security operations by enhancing situational awareness across the electromagnetic spectrum (EMS). In this role, you will conduct real-time and historical RF spectrum analysis to identify, classify, and assess wireless signals, protocols, and technologies that impact cyber and intelligence operations.
You will apply advanced RF analysis techniques to identify vulnerabilities in wireless systems, support exploitation planning, and integrate RF-derived insights into broader cyber operations. This position requires deep technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to operate within classified environments while advising government stakeholders on RF-related risks, compliance considerations, and operational impacts.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct real-time and historical electromagnetic spectrum analysis to identify, classify, and characterize RF signals using a variety of tools and analytical techniques.
· Analyze RF signals based on modulation schemes, protocols, and waveform characteristics to enhance situational awareness within the EMS.
· Evaluate wireless communication technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, and other RF-enabled systems, to identify vulnerabilities in devices, networks, and supporting infrastructure.
· Perform RF-focused vulnerability assessments and assist with the development and implementation of techniques to exploit identified RF vulnerabilities.
· Integrate RF analysis findings into cyber operation planning and execution in coordination with cyber, intelligence, and mission partners.
· Prepare clear, concise, and accurate technical reports documenting RF findings, assessments, recommendations, and operational implications.
· Maintain detailed records of RF spectrum activity, analysis methodologies, and assessment results to support mission continuity and historical analysis.
· Advise government stakeholders on RF spectrum usage, compliance with applicable regulations and policies, and risk considerations related to RF-enabled cyber operations.
· Maintain awareness of legal, regulatory, and ethical considerations governing RF spectrum monitoring and exploitation activities.
· Support the deployment, configuration, and operational use of specialized RF tools and capabilities used to implement RF-related cyber tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
· Provide subject matter expertise to support mission planning, execution, and continuous improvement of RF analysis and exploitation capabilities.
