Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Quantity Surveyor to join our team! We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in cost estimation, budget management, and ensuring project efficiency. This position also involves supporting Project Management Consultant (PMC) activities and conducting design reviews to ensure alignment with project objectives and cost control measures.
What You'll Be Doing:
Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for construction projects.
Analyze project costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure adherence to budgets.
Prepare tender documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and contracts.
Evaluate contractor bids and provide recommendations for award.
Negotiate contracts and manage procurement processes to ensure value for money.
Collaborate with the PMC team to ensure project milestones are met within budget and schedule.
Provide cost-related insights and recommendations during project planning and execution.
Assist in risk management and mitigation strategies related to project costs.
Manage contracts and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
Monitor variations and claims, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.
Prepare and submit progress reports, valuations, and final accounts.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth communication and project delivery.
Provide regular updates on cost-related matters to stakeholders.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in quantity surveying, preferably with exposure to PMC roles.
Strong knowledge of cost estimation, tendering, and contract administration.
Familiarity with design review processes and ability to identify cost implications.
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, cost management tools).
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
Certification in RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent is a plus.
