Play a critical assurance role on one of New Zealand’s largest transport infrastructure programmes.

The Northland Corridor is a 100 km stretch of highway connecting Auckland to Northland. Made up of three Roads of National Significance (RoNS), it will support economic growth and productivity, reduce congestion, improve safety, support housing development, and provide a more resilient roading network. 

This role offers the chance to work alongside a highly experienced client-side team, offering rare exposure to, and learning from, some of New Zealand’s most experienced transport practitioners, shaping how major transport projects are delivered in Aotearoa.

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity   

Reporting to the Technical Director, you’ll lead client-side assurance of quality systems and works completion within a Public Private Partnership (PPP) environment. Your focus is ensuring construction meets contractual standards, quality issues are identified early, and completion milestones are achieved with confidence.

This is a senior, hands-on role with a strong on-site presence (4-5 days per week).

What you’ll do

You will:

  • Provide assurance of the contractor’s quality management system and its application on site
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and spot checks to verify compliance
  • Oversee non-conformances and defects through to effective closure
  • Track quality performance and identify emerging risks
  • Work closely with the Independent Reviewer, internal and external specialists
  • Lead client-side assurance for works completion and handover

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Senior experience in quality assurance on major infrastructure projects, ideally in a PPP or Alliance environment
  • Strong knowledge of QA systems, Inspection and Test Plans, non-conformance management and handover
  • The credibility to influence and escalate when required
  • Clear communication and governance-level reporting skills
