JOB SUMMARY

Develops engineering designs ranging from basic to high complexity. Provides and communicates technical solutions to engineers and business stakeholders, drawing on deep experience and domain knowledge. Operates independently except in the most complex cases. Leads cross‑functional project teams to resolve technical challenges and remove obstacles that may impact project schedules.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and validate complex embedded hardware designs.
  • Independently design embedded hardware and PCB layouts using standard design tools.
  • Design all aspects of electronic circuits with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with system architects to review and clarify design requirements and translate them into detailed design specifications.
  • Assemble prototypes independently and verify proper functionality.
  • Work with and manage external component suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Communicate complex technical aspects of projects effectively to customers and incorporate feedback into design specifications.
  • Identify innovative design approaches and potential patentable solutions.
  • Collaborate in the development of embedded firmware.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant industry, regulatory, and safety standards (within moderate complexity).
  • Broad technical understanding across Electrical Engineering design domains, such as Embedded System, Digital Design, Analog Design, RF Design, etc.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with key development tools and engineering practices, including component derating, DFMEA, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and simulation tools.

NON‑TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Ability to influence others and share best practices.
  • Strong communication skills with good command of English.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a global team.
  • Leadership capability in certain aspects of technical tasks.
  • Ability to assess projects, articulate risks, and develop project milestones.
  • Experience developing projects within a stage‑gate process (PLCQ).
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers.
  • Participation in cross‑functional design reviews, including leading aspects of EE design reviews when required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with experience in embedded systems, AP/router, touch panels, remote controllers, or similar applications.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded hardware design or other relevant technical competencies.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
