Quality Technician - CB1 - M

We are currently looking for a Quality Technician to join us on 2nd Shift at our facility in High Point, NC 

Responsibilities:

• Performs a variety of complex and specialized quality control tests and assists with coordinating the operations of the lab.

• Runs comprehensive and specialized lab tests that require judgment and interpretation of results within general guidelines.

• Position requires customer interaction on occasion.

• Performs complex calculations and additional analyses on test results to determine if product is within proper boundaries; provides direction to other lab technicians when required.

• Assists with developing standard operational procedures and test guidelines and overseeing daily operations to ensure a safe and effective lab environment.

• Recommends technical formula or material adjustments to the product based on test results and judgment; receives direction on issues when required and coordinates potential formula changes with corporate.

• Clean, maintain, and calibrate complex lab equipment and maintain a clean and safe working environment.

• Coordinates activities with production, maintenance, technology, or other plant personnel to ensure the effective flow of operations, communication between the lab and plant, and maintaining and updating formulas.

• Responds to customer questions and complaints regarding product quality, test results, and other information.

• Reviews, completes, and enters a variety of forms, logs, and reports detailing test results to ensure compliance with operational procedure.

 

Requirements:

• Highly preferred bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, or equivalent education.

• Five plus years of QC experience is preferred.

• Must be able to pass the Color Hue Test.

• Frequent, standing, stooping, and walking

• May be required to lift to 50 1lbs.

• Must be able to work overtime, which includes weekends as required

• Prioritizing and assigning work.

• Performing comprehensive quality control tests.

• Utilizing specialized quality control laboratory equipment.

• Understanding of basic product and general manufacturing processes.

• Applying operational policies and procedures.

• Documenting technical and test results.

• Calculating and reviewing technical chemistry formulas.

• Determining formula or material adjustments within boundaries.

• Reading and interpreting results within guidelines.

• PC Skills: Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and other applicable applications. SAP experience preferred, but not required.

• Communicating with co-workers to provide and receive direction.

• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

• This is not a remote position, must be present onsite to perform the job requirements.
