Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for a talented Quality Inspector to join our team in Annapolis, MD!

The Undersea System Quality Mission Excellence team is looking for a candidate with experience in evaluating a variety of purchased and internally manufactured components, to determine if drawing/ specification requirements are met. The candidate must be able to utilize inspection equipment and procedures to determine pass/fail evaluations. The position also includes ensuring the inspection equipment is properly maintained and calibrated and environmental conditions are adequate for inspection processes including lighting, cleanliness and availability of documentation and tools.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Performing dimensional and visual inspection in accordance with written planning and procedures.

• Proactive attitude toward learning/training and be capable of working in a dynamic team environment.

• Supporting and advancing a strong safety culture.

• Understanding and adhering to company policies and procedures.

• Interfacing with numerous engineering, manufacturing and quality teams and customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent with 4 years of inspection or manufacturing experience.

• The ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.

• Experience using calibrated measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, optical comparator).

• Experience with performing visual, in-process and final dimensional inspections on tightly tolerance piece parts, subassemblies, and final assembly. 

• Experience with review of supplier test data and certification packages.

• Experience with performing required inspections in accordance with procedures and planning documentation.

• Experience programming and operating coordinate measuring machines (CMM) using PC-DMIS.

• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security Clearance

• (US Citizenship required)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with SAP, MES and MPLM

• Experience operating coordinate measuring machines (CMM)

• (PC-DMIS for CMM 101, 201, 202)

• Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Primary Level Salary Range: $52,094.00 - $125,390.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
