Quality Inspector I

Job Summary: The Quality Inspector I job requires you to perform routine inspection and/or testing in one of the following Departments/Areas: Coating, Tufting, Logos, or Lab. This job involves visually checking raw materials, products at different stages of production, and finished products. You'll also make simple measurements and ensure all records are accurate.

Night Shift:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coating:
    • Inspect turf during coating process (face and back) for defects.
    • Measure roll width, pile height, tuft binds, and record data accordingly.
    • Place quality holds on defective rolls.
    • Prepare retain samples for lab testing.
  • Tufting:
    • Perform routine inspections, recording any findings in logbooks.
    • Verify correct raw materials (backing, fiber, fiber color).
    • Perform “weight checks” for all new orders and confirm product specifications.
  • Logos:
    • Measure logo dimensions, and check for defects.
    • Perform EFAB machine quality checks.
    • Record logo inspection data.
  • Lab:
    • Conduct routine finished product tests (Instron, drainage).
    • Prepare test samples using die press cutter.
    • Test incoming materials (infill, fiber, backing) when necessary.
  • Note: Each Department/Area requires effective communication with production personnel, department Supervisors, and Quality Team.
  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel) and basic Math skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High School Diploma/GED Required.
  • Ability to read and interpret production orders and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects.
  • Basic measurement skills using measuring tapes, rulers, and other tools.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
