Job Description

  

Job Summary:

he Quality Inspector I performs routine inspections and audits of incoming, in‑process, and finished products to ensure conformance to established specifications and quality requirements. This position supports manufacturing operations by identifying nonconforming material, accurately documenting inspection results, and escalating quality concerns as appropriate. Work is performed under close supervision using established procedures and guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of materials, components, and products in accordance with drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and inspection criteria to determine acceptance or rejection.
  • Measure product characteristics using basic measuring tools such as rulers, calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Record inspection results accurately and enter required data into quality or manufacturing systems.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconforming material in accordance with established procedures.
  • Apply acceptance or rejection labels as required.
  • Notify supervisors and appropriate personnel of quality issues and assist with basic problem identification.
  • Prepare inspection, rejection, and first article documentation as assigned.
  • Support efforts to minimize rework, scrap, and production delays by timely identification of quality issues.
  • Follow all safety, security, quality, and import/export compliance requirements.


Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 0–2 years of experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, or a related technical environment preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
