What you will do
Silent-Aire has an opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the execution of quality goals and objectives. Proactively drive actions to meet internal and external customer expectations for quality. Work cross-functionally to identify causes of potential product/process failures and drive corrective and preventative actions internally and/or with suppliers and customers as needed. Use sound audit techniques and statistical tools to identify high leverage continuous improvement projects to elevate the company Quality delivery to our customers.
This is an onsite role located in Nisku, Alberta.
How you will do it
Assist the Silent Aire team in managing the top customer facing issues by
Working cross functionally between departments (engineering, purchasing, suppliers, manufacturing)
Drive action items to closure within the organization
Provide engineering support (electrical / mechanical) to the team to aid in root cause analysis
Prepare reports for internal and customer use
Provide technical assistance on identifying the root causes to top plant issues and drive actions to closure
Analyze data relating to the build processes to understand our top issues and drive projects for improvement (IWO’s, commissioning issues, field failures)
Monitor and analyze customer issue KPIs, including but not limited to response time, resolution time, and customer satisfaction.
Assist in the investigation and analysis of NCRs to identify root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement action plans to address issues identified through KPI monitoring and NCR analysis.
Participate in regular audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and customer service teams to identify areas for improvement in processes, procedures, and products.
Prepare statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE) plans in support of organizational continuous improvement activities.
Perform Internal Process and Product Assessments.
Provide quality support to cross-functional New Product Introduction (NPI) team projects.
Develop quality plans and other process controls to ensure processes, work in progress and finished goods meet the specified quality standards.
Facilitate cross-functional PPAP.
Analyze product specifications and manufacturing processes/procedures to determine best practices to meet or exceed our quality and ISO standards.
Facilitate business process re-engineering.
Creation and updating of Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions.
Retrieve customer issue data from portal and analyze.
What we look for
Required
BS in engineering, quality management or other technical discipline
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a quality engineering role in a manufacturing environment preferred and customer facing.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and root cause of quality issues.
Knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Effectively operate in facilitate cross-functional teams.
Ability to communicate with multiple cultures/regions.
Candidates must exhibit a high-level of self-motivation, sense of urgency and comfortable making recommendations across broad teams.
Open to occasional business travel (domestic and international)
Exceptional mechanical aptitude.
Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Previous audit experience a plus
Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to construct and present information to a wide range of audiences internally and externally.
Minitab or equivalent statistical analysis software (current version) experience preferred.
