Job Description:

Summary:

The position of Quality Engineer receives functional guidance from the site Quality Manager and is responsible for leading root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address quality issues and prevent reoccurrence. The Quality Engineer will Monitor and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and implement corrective actions as necessary. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve quality issues and improve quality performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management System
    • Represent local site quality organization during 2nd and 3rd party audits.
    • Monitor and drive improvement actions identified in first party Internal Quality Audits
  • Root Cause Analysis:
    • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address quality issues and prevent reoccurrence.
    • Support cross functional teams to solve plant internal complaints and customer complaints with sustained and timely solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement (Audits, Corrective and Preventive Actions):
    • Develop and implement statistical process control methods to monitor and improve production processes.
    • Monitor and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and implement corrective actions as necessary.
    • Communicate regularly with management concerning trends and progress in quality metrics’ performance.
    • Support Site, Regional and Global Quality Improvement Processes.
    • Assure Key Learnings are updated within FMEAs, control plans, work instructions.
  • Training:
    • Train and mentor junior quality engineers and provide guidance on quality assurance best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading quality improvement projects and driving results.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to apply statistical analysis methods to identify and address quality issues.
  • Proficient in using quality-related tools and software, such as statistical analysis software, data collection tools, and quality management systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of quality core tools such as FMEA, MSA, SPC, Gage R&R, PPAP and RCFA.
  • Lead auditor certification in ISO9001 / IATF 16949 preferred
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
