Quality Engineer

Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that Astrodyne TDI’s products and processes meet established quality standards by identifying shortfalls, developing corrective measures, and implementing quality control systems. These responsibilities include designing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems and determining corrective actions. This position will be working with a wider team of manufacturing and design professionals to achieve the overall goal of maintaining the quality of the final product by following the quality management systems. They will ensure that final products are safe and meet customer expectations while keeping the manufacturing process as effective and cost-efficient as possible by using Lean methodology. A successful quality engineer should have excellent trouble shooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards. 


Job Responsibilities:
• Conduct First Article Inspections on internal and externally manufactured product.
• Monitoring and analyzing quality performance.
• Participate in scheduled program review meetings.
• Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues.
• Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
• Assist in the closure of customer related issues as required. 
• Assist/Conduct Quality Management System audits as per schedule.
• Assist with DMIR, In-process, and Final Inspection activities. 
• Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to develop and implement controls and 
improvements.
• Analyze issues reported via customer feedback, maintaining records and implementing 
changes to manufacturing when necessary
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • B.S or B.A. (Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering preferred)
  • 2+ years’ experience in technical engineering-based role.
    Understanding of ISO 13485 and AS9100.
  • Background in assembly manufacturing, preferably in power supplies or other related 
    Electro-Mechanical operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • ASQ certification preferred.
    Proficiency in MS Suite, Internet Browsers, ERP, and experience using EDMS.
  • Strong knowledge of Electronic Assembly Acceptability - IPC 610, 620, SAE, ANSI, or JSTD-001.
  • Exceptional ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with problem solving tools (i.e., fishbone diagram, 5S, 8D, visual factory 
    design, FMEA).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Excellent team building skills in 
    dealing with peers and other functional areas.
  • Strong technical writing ability and an ability to explain complex issues in a concise and 
    plain manner familiar with data analysis.
  • Help to develop Design related testing to identify product durability and areas of 
    weakness.
  • Ability to set and deliver to specific goals and target

 

Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000
