Purpose The QC trainee will be involved in the environmental monitoring program and is responsible for the environmental monitoring of critical utilities and processes to ensure the highest quality standards for our manufacturing operations. This role involves sampling, laboratory testing, data analysis, and proactive participation in a culture of safety and lean efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Monitoring: Execute routine sampling for critical utilities in accordance to the established EM program. These critical utilities include HVAC, BSC, VLFH/HLFH, compressed air/gas, and water/pure steam systems.
Laboratory Operations: Perform routine and non-routine EM sample testing (bioburden testing) in alignment with SOPs and cGMP regulations.
Support of Critical Utilities: Support the sampling, testing and timely release of EM results of critical utilities to support production run and mitigate production delay.
System Documentation: Document results in lab systems (i.e. LIMS and Nextlab). Manage and review data within LIMS and NextLab; prepare EM trend graphs for data analysis.
Lab Support: Operate laboratory autoclave and prepare autoclaved materials for lab use
Lab Stewardship: Maintain a high standard of lab housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and inventory management.
Compliance & Audits: Support internal and external regulatory inspections and ensure all documentation is archived per RSTO standards.
Leadership & Culture
Teamwork: Actively support the Head of Micro/EM and QC Supervisors to meet team goals. Exhibit team spirit and the willingness to support other colleagues of the EM operations to complete tasks for the day.
Safety: Champion a "Safety First" culture, adhering to all SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) protocols and site security measures.
Transparency: Demonstrate a strong commitment to data integrity and ethical conduct. Proactively report deviations or data anomalies, fostering a "Quality First" environment where transparency leads to continuous improvement.
Lean Mindset: Apply Lean Production System (LPS) tools to identify efficiencies and foster a culture of experimentation and learning.
Education:
Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Life Science or equivalent
Experience:
0 - 3 years of related working experience for degree holders or equivalent holders with combination of education and relative work experience is preferred
Strong problem solving capability. Able to determine when to escalate issue.
Ability to organize and plan effectively. Effective resource management.
Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills in English.
