Being a part of the Infobip Engineering department means working on an in-house developed product and delivering solutions on a global level.

What this role is all about

As a QA Engineer Intern at Infobip, you will be part of the Engineering department — the team behind one of the world's largest cloud communication platforms. You will gain insight into planned initiatives and requirements, and will be responsible for providing clear feedback on risks threatening the product and defining a testing strategy.

In this role, you will specifically work with our OTT channels (such as WhatsApp, Viber, and Messenger) and the OTT-based portal micro-frontends. You will have a strong focus on our public APIs, ensuring they meet the high standards required for our global communication ecosystem. A critical point of view is a crucial part of this role as you will perform testing, along with the ability to talk about issues in a clear and diplomatic way.

What you'll do:

  • Test ideas before starting implementation (point out unclarities in requirements, test the design prototype)

  • Understand the impact a new requirement (or any change) can have on the current system (matrix of services and dependencies, identifying critical paths)

  • Define quality criteria for the area and identify risks threatening them

  • Test implementation and report on the product's testing state

  • Prioritize and report issues with clear steps to reproduce and expected behavior

  • Discuss improvements of the products with a clear business/user value proposition

  • Have a basic knowledge and a genuine interest in test automation

  • Utilize our testing framework - Playwright with TypeScript - to support test automation efforts

  • Be able to propose and implement test automation strategies

  • Understand where test automation fits in a development process

  • Closely collaborate with different roles such as Product Manager, Product Designer, UX Researcher, Software Engineer, Test Automation Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, etc.

  • Gain guidance with continuous, personalized feedback from your dedicated mentor, empowering your personal growth and accelerating your development

What makes you a strong fit:

  • Final‑year student in a relevant field (e.g. Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, etc.)

  • You have valid student's rights from Studentski centar (can work on student contract during internship and after)

  • You can work full or part time after completing the internship

  • You're available full-time for six-months Internship in Infobip from July.

  • You are fluent in the English language, both written and spoken

  • You have good communication skills, enabling you to express yourself concisely and clearly, with a diplomatic approach (taking the escalation process into account as well)

  • Fundamental knowledge of APIs: You understand how APIs work, including common protocols (REST) and how they facilitate communication between systems

  • You have an eye for detail, easily spotting inconsistencies and issues

  • You can isolate issues and provide optimal steps to reproduce them

  • You use AI tools, such as Claude Code, to facilitate solution of assigned tasks

Nice-to-have qualifications:

  • You are familiar with software testing role and have an interest in this field

  • You are familiar with concepts of test strategy and risk-based testing approach

  • You are a self-driven critical thinker, responsible in your job and willing to learn

  • You have an eye for detail, easily spotting inconsistencies and issues

  • Work in a continuous delivery environment, including CI/CD pipeline integrations

  • Track tests execution and act on it – by reporting issues and improvements

  • Participated in student projects, hackathons, workshops or other similar activities

Internship timeline:

  • Application deadline (mid of May)

  • Imocha online testing (By the end of May)

  • Interviews and selection process feedback (June)

  • Start of internship program (July 6th)

  • Orientation week in Zagreb Infobip campus (July 6th - 17th)

  • Working with the mentor and within a team (July - January)

  • End of the Internship program (January)
