Position Title

QA specialist for Korean to English

Position Overview

This role is responsible for subtitle and template QA and dubbing scripting and dub relevant document edit responsibilities to ensure high-quality localization. The QA Specialist will review, edit and proofread subtitles and scripts and dub reference documents for linguistic accuracy, and ensure all client guidelines, requirements, and feedback are understood and incorporated into deliverables, maintaining creative integrity and client specifications.

About the Team (Localization)

Localization is the process of translating and adapting content to specific geographical regions for consumption in local markets. Though many services make up the elements of the localization process including dubbing and subtitling, the goal of localization is to be authentic to the content being created, protecting the creative vision, specifically for a target market, no matter their language, culture, or location.

Main Duties

A Day in the Life of this position would include the following:

Subtitling

  • Conduct subtitle and template reviews, ensuring grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, and fluency.

  • Escalate quality issues and collaborate with production teams for timely resolution.

  • Validate feedback with language leads and evaluators as needed.

  • Train and onboard new QA Specialists, ensuring alignment with quality standards.

  • Participate in internal training sessions to stay updated on industry standards and workflows.

Scripting

  • Review and edit scripting and related documents for dubbing projects.

  • Adjust scripting format, ensure the original content and metadata accuracy for spoken dialogue and text elements.

  • Annotate cultural/contextual notes to support accurate dubbing adaptation.

  • QA translated scripts and finalize deliverables to meet client specifications.

  • Ensure scripts are error free and meet the highest industry standards as well as unique client specifications.

What You Bring

  • Extensive experience in editing for subtitling and scripting.

  • Strong Korean and English language skills, written and oral.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining a high attention to detail.

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work independently.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and general software tools.

  • Well-rounded knowledge of historical and contemporary events, cultural references, slang, and idioms.
