QA Automation Engineer – Selenium, API Testing & CI/CD in Enterprise Applications

Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer to oversee the design, development, and execution of automated testing frameworks supporting enterprise software applications. This role involves leading quality assurance initiatives, guiding a team of automation testers, and collaborating across teams to ensure high-quality, reliable, and secure solutions. Your contributions will facilitate continuous delivery, reduce manual testing efforts, and uphold industry best practices in automation and quality standards.


Software Requirements

Required:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Selenium, TestNG, Maven, Jenkins, and JIRA (8+ years)

  • Strong programming skills in Java (version 8+), with experience in writing reusable automation scripts

  • Proven experience leading automation frameworks supporting functional, regression, and API testing

  • Experience with test planning, test case design, and defect tracking

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline integrations supporting automation (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of test automation best practices, framework maintenance, and test reporting


Preferred:

  • Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or Gherkin

  • Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner

  • Exposure to cloud environment testing support (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Test data management and automation of data validation processes


Overall Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of test automation frameworks supporting enterprise applications

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, and API validation

  • Lead the bug triage process, ensure defect closure, and improve test coverage to catch regressions early

  • Collaborate with development, QA, and business teams to define testing scope and strategies

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and deployment processes

  • Drive process improvements to automate manual testing efforts and optimize automation frameworks

  • Lead reviews of test scripts and frameworks to ensure adherence to best practices and industry standards

  • Monitor test execution metrics, generate reports, and analyze results to inform quality improvements

  • Mentor junior team members on automation best practices and facilitate skill development


Technical Skills (By Category)

Languages & Frameworks (Essential):

  • Java (version 8+), with expertise in creating automated scripts

  • TestNG, Cucumber (preferred), JUnit, or similar frameworks

  • Selenium WebDriver for UI automation


Tools & CI/CD:

  • Maven, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent support for automation pipelines


Test & Performance Tools:

  • JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar for performance testing

  • Test management tools such as JIRA, Zephyr (preferred)


Databases & Data Validation:

  • SQL proficiency: MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server for data validation and database testing


Cloud & Automation (Preferred):

  • Knowledge of cloud environment testing and deployment support on AWS, Azure, or GCP


Experience Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in test automation supporting enterprise applications

  • Demonstrated success leading or supporting automation frameworks for functional, regression, and API testing

  • Experience automating tests within CI/CD pipelines supporting agile delivery models

  • Proven ability to guide technical teams and implement automation best practices

  • Industry experience in finance, banking, or regulated environments is advantageous but not mandatory


Day-to-Day Activities

  • Develop and enhance automation scripts supporting enterprise applications

  • Execute automated test suites and analyze results for quality and stability

  • Troubleshoot and debug automation scripts and frameworks for reliability and performance

  • Collaborate with developers, QA, and business stakeholders on testing scope and data management

  • Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines for seamless application delivery

  • Monitor automation health, generate test metrics, and optimize workflows

  • Lead defect management, bug review, and test case reviews

  • Document automation frameworks, scripts, and defect resolutions

  • Mentor junior members, promote test automation standards, and contribute to process improvements


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in test automation, including API, UI, and regression testing

  • Certifications such as ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester, or related automation certifications are a plus

  • Proven success in leading automation efforts in enterprise settings supporting continuous integration and delivery
