Public Safety - Event Worker (NFWS/FWS)

Purpose Within the Organization:

The purpose of this position is to assist GCU Public Safety by patrolling the facility or campus grounds used in campus events.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

  • Provides enthusiastic, first-class customer service to all guests.
  • Monitors and authorizes access to facilities and events for guests, stage personnel, event(s) staff, employees, which enforces the venue’s rules and regulations at all times.
  • Assist with special details, such as placing barricades and direct traffic.
  • Ensures safety and security of students, faculty, employees, guests, visitors, event attendees and/or members of the public.
  • Ensures compliance with University policies, and Public Safety policy.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Professional appearance and demeanor with ability to interact positively with staff, guests, visitors and members of the public.
  • Must be in good standings with Grand Canyon University.
  • Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays depending on scheduled events.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
