As an automation support engineer team member, you will be responsible for leading the continuous improvement, upgrades, and sustainment of deployed common factory test platforms (CFTP) and automation systems solutions in support of manufacturing. This position includes supporting the development of physical automation solutions with a strong focus on collaborative robotics, electrical system designs and system level integration.
What You Will Do
Support the sustainment, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing automation systems, which includes but it is not limited to thermal engines, slot controllers, amplifiers, shakers, and RF test platforms.
Support the evaluation, deployment, and integration of new technologies and enhance existing manufacturing processes to support labor efficiency, ergonomic improvements and increased throughput.
Partner with cross-functional teams to assess factory needs, define system requirements, and deliver robust automation solutions aligned with production goals.
Help integrate and support CFTP products and associated infrastructure.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and integrators to source and validate new automation technologies.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience with test equipment, manufacturing operations/engineering, systems engineering, controls engineering, and/or automation engineering.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Clearance (ATF).
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with automation sustainment and troubleshooting, including knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings and schematics.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to translate complex technical solutions into practical business outcomes.
Active DOD Secret Clearance.
Good knowledge of safety regulations (e.g. OSHA) and electrical compliances.
Professional experience with the full life-cycle deployment and integration of automation systems (Hardware design, Test equipment design, robotics, controllers, etc.).

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
