About the role

AIG’s underwriters develop insurance solutions that address the exposures of companies and individuals, and embody AIG’s tradition of innovation, bringing to market sustainable insurance solutions for our changing world.
Based in our Rotterdam office located in the Rivium in Capelle aan den IJssel, you will be part of our team of enthusiastic professionals. You will be responsible for handling new business and reviewing and renewing existing books of business in a portfolio of major global accounts with large exposures. You will be fundamental in creating underwriting excellence and profitability for AIG.
Key Responsibilities
Management Reporting
Liaise with Profit Centre Manager to facilitate provision of current month, quarter and year to date production estimates for Commercial Property
Maintenance of activity records of quotations and strike rates
Business Processes
Assist with special projects or requirements that may arise from time to time
Portfolio Analysis and Management
Contribute towards business plans in accordance with corporate direction
Ensure adherence to corporate guidelines
Assist where necessary the National and Regional Product Lines Managers
Risk Assessment, Renewal Retention Strategy and New Business Development
Risk Assessment and underwriting of Renewal and New Business including presenting and issuance of terms and binding
Preparation and issuance of Policy wording documentation endorsements and other required documents and ensuring they are in accordance with corporate guidelines
Completion, checking and issuance of documentation, underwriting worksheets, insurance certificates in accordance with corporate guidelines
Responsibility for quality, accuracy and completion of entries for his/her assigned accounts
Customer
Maintain / develop working relationships with all brokers of existing accounts and potential new accounts.
Identify new business opportunities for other profit centres to support the companies cross marketing strategy.
Liaise with all relevant departments to ensure awareness of underwriting and business activities support standards required
Profile
Significant experience within the Insurance Industry
Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage work flow for both new business and renewals
Strong analytical skills, customer focus, and interpersonal & relationship management skills
Strong proficiency in computer applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
Team player
Good marketing skills
