What’s the role
The Shell Scotford Chemicals and Energy Park is seeking a Project Stationary Workface Planner (also known internally as Project Planner) to join the team in Scotford Complex. In this role, you will be responsible for the detail planning and scheduling of stationary deliverables for multiple projects across the Scotford Manufacturing Complex while remaining highly focused on balancing constructability requirements with the engineering requirements, to support the delivery of a highly cost competitiveness portfolio of projects.
The planner will work within a high performing team, throughout the project lifecycle and contribute to project delivery by bringing their energy and construction experience to the table to play a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of construction work for the site.
Accountabilities:
Provide constructability input in the early phases of project lifecycles
Manage field verification of work process as described in approved Construction Work Packages
Develop detailed Primavera work plans and activities and ensure work plans are reviewed with Engineering, Field coordinators, and execution contractors to ensure they are fit for purpose and integrated into the overall project file with correct coding
Identify opportunities to optimize project scope though having a cost leadership mindset
Coordinate procurement of all bulk materials identified in the Bill of Materials for project Construction Work Packages
Ensure disposal plans are developed in conjunction with Engineering
Procure any materials not listed in the Construction Work Packages but required for the execution of the work (consumables)
Issue requisitions for all labour Purchase Orders
Work with Non-Routine Scheduler and Electrical & Instrumentation teams to optimize the execution plans
Create logical ties in plan to allow for the scheduling team to efficiently resource level plans
Complete comparison of planned Direct Field Labor hours vs estimated Direct Field Labour hours and support analysis and identification of significant discrepancies
Communicate key issues and risks to the Project Engineer, Senior Planner and Planning supervisor
Provide peer mentorship to other planners within the team and demonstrate a willingness to learn from others
Ensure compliance to site practices, policies and procedures including, but not limited to Project Delivery Process, quality, and Safe Work Practices
What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Trade Certification or Technical Education is preferred
Minimum of 7 years of experience in project, routine, or turnaround within a similar industry. Demonstrated ability to manage and oversee planning activities for stationary equipment and related work scopes
Experience in using Primavera is considered an asset
Experience and knowledge of Advanced Work Packaging is an asset
Ability to work with the following programs: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, GSAP/SAP, Navis Works, and Acrobat Adobe Pro
