The opportunity:

Plan, organize, lead and monitor all Quality work related to the project. Analyse and consider the quality demands of the contract and align them to HVDC’s quality management system. Support and guide the project core team in all quality related issues in the project to support project objective achievement in terms of quality, supplier & subcontractor quality, and customer satisfaction. Coordinate all quality related discussion with the Customer. Flag for and stop execution of project if the quality risks are too high.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • When nominated to do so, represent the company in terms of Quality in front of the customer, during the Sales & Tendering phase by participating in relevant project team meetings, support the preparation of the Quality section of the offer, including the Project Quality Plan and the applicable standard inspection and test programs and any other quality related document.

  • Provide feedback on the Quality section of client specification and provide deviations (if any), required from the customer to Tendering, register quality risks in the risk register based on analysis and ensure mitigations are identified and follow up. Ensure that negotiation results related to Quality are documented and the corresponding impact on the tender considered.

  • Review and distribution of all applicable Regulations, Codes and Standards related to Quality, prepare quality budget proposal on resources and costs for approval, apply lessons learnt from previous projects and document them for future use.

  • Participate in the Project kick off meeting to ensure that the Project Quality plan, Inspection & Test Program and all Quality requirements are communicated and implemented on the Project. Main point of contact and Interface with the customer on test coordination & Project Quality issues.

  • Develop, implement and follow up the quality management system (QMS) for the project in the form of the project quality plan (PQP). The PQP shall be based on HVDCs IMS in addition to specific project specific procedures. Deviations to IMS processes and documents are to be discussed and risks registered within the project deviation database. Drive Quality culture, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and compliance with local codes & standards, law & regulations on the Project. Develop and implement a Project Quality audit schedule as per customer requirements and the internal requirements of the Business and the Quality Management System.

  • Communicate the inspection and test program (ITP) to the client in a timely manner, in line with project schedule deliverables. Responsibility for creating, communicating & following up the master ITP register based on input from various functions. Identify W&H and notification req (contract review).

  • Coordinate & send out witnessing notifications and follow up / ensure compliance, coordinate inspection activities for suppliers, in collaboration with Supply Chain function, and for site in collaboration with site team. Work with the Project Team to ensure adequate Quality Control expertise is available at the appropriate project delivery point (i.e. Supply Chain, construction, commissioning, handover).

  • Provide input to the Project reviews and ensure Quality aspects are covered, ensure supplier Quality documentation meets both contract and ABB PG requirements, collaborate and direct Site Quality representative to ensure proper execution of quality activities at construction site, collaborate with documentation management to ensure Site Final Documentation is consolidated in line with contract and ABB PG requirements. On a monthly basis measure, consolidate report and act on Quality at Project level, based upon the requirements of the Business.

  • When necessary, ensure the business Continuous Improvement process is followed whenever required to solve project issues. Ensure that the applicable Quality documentation is archived and transferred to Services if applicable, ensure that the Project Quality documentation is transferred to Customer as per project contract requirements, ensure the process to consider local quality requirements for the scope of project supply has been implemented and followed. ensure that "Lessons Learned" & ToE processes are followed and are fed back to the organization using the business process and tools, ensure NCM processes are known, implemented & followed in the project (QIT, CCRP).

  • Set up Nonconformance project structure in NCM tool, communicate and follow up implementation. Monitor & review project NCR status and drive / support resolution in adherence to KPIs • Implement and monitor the TNPS process for the project, report on Project performance and provide periodical project data analysis (i.e. project objectives, performance indicators, non-conformities, complaints, and lesson learned) and relating reporting.

  • Have an overview of engineering quality (DRM) and ensure that processes are being followed. Participate in Stage Gate model and ensure compliance to process and raise any deviations. Review Quality RS and ensure project specific customer requirements are implemented, monitor and ensure requirements have been fulfilled and correct documentation review has been done at suppliers before signoff of Shipment Release, monitor Change Control Board process and ensure any changes due to deviations are recorded.

  • Work with quality risks and monitor status and mitigation. Educate organization in quality processes and ensure compliance.

Your background:

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in Technical / engineering / Quality management.

  • Minimum 5+ years professional experience related to the function (ex. EPC Project based environment). Power or energy industry experience.

  • Track record and proven capability in Change Management, managing internal project/ program in large and complex organization.

  • Experience in process management ideally in project business, preferably in the energy or automation industry, or other quality and process-oriented industries.

  • Continuous Improvement experience, L6S Belt.

  • Capacity to communicate, result oriented, speed in execution, openness and listening to others. Ability to travel to project construction sites and supplier’s location.

  • Test coordination experience, ISO9001 knowledge, Certified auditor.

  • English fluency (both written and spoken).
