The opportunity:
The Project Procurement Planner ensures timely delivery of critical equipment by monitoring, expediting, and coordinating documents and material flow from internal and external suppliers for multiple projects. The role ensures that equipment is procured, interfaced, and delivered to site in line with project schedules, Hitachi Energy policy, contractual obligations, and quality standards, while adhering to health, safety, and environmental requirements.
How you’ll make an impact:
Thoroughly understand and assess project schedules, supplier contractual milestones, and manufacturing plans to provide feedback to SCM and PM on the Project Procurement Plan.
Attend Kick-off Meetings and drive consistency in planning approaches between Hitachi Energy and suppliers/factories. Review project and supplier documentation packages for completeness and compliance.
Conduct reviews on accomplishment of supplier’s manufacturing schedule, including their procurement milestones and track factory progress. Escalate deviations from plan within SCM for timely action and notify PMs accordingly.
Provide regular feedback to PSCM and PM on SCM Procurement Health Status. Maintain accurate records of expediting activities, supplier communications, and delivery milestones on Project Procure.
Act as a liaison between suppliers and project teams for technical and commercial clarifications. Understand lead times for equipment components and alert management to any delivery issues.
Request weekly or monthly order status reports from suppliers/factories—including photographic evidence as needed—and request and coordinate inspections as per contractual requirements. Identify and communicate potential expediting strategies in regular meetings.
Proactively identify potential delays from plan and escalate within PSCM for timely action and notify PMs accordingly. Proactively identify common issues (e.g., systemic tier 2 delays) and escalate early.
Ensure consistent application of contract and claims management in accordance with company policies and support PSCM and Category Manager in claim negotiations. Contribute relevant input into the project monthly review cycle.
Participate in escalation forums with fact-based analysis to support decision-making in project procurements. Advise SCM teams for potential expediting strategy based on various project patterns. Capture, analyze and share lessons learned throughout the project.
Adhere to the SCM & Project process in the organization. Ensure implementation and compliance of HSE group guidelines. Ensure Hitachi Energy integrity guidelines are followed in the team and IS security policy is followed.

Your background:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Planning, Engineering, Project Management or a related field.
5+ years of experience in expediting or planning or supply chain roles, preferably in EPC or power infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of project schedules, procurement, manufacturing process and logistics processes in project environments.
Familiarity with project-based procurement and construction schedules. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts) and Power BI (data modeling, dashboards).
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office tools. Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with international suppliers and understanding of incoterms.
Knowledge of quality documentation and inspection coordination is a plus. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
