Purpose of Role: The Project Order Fulfilment Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management and delivery of project orders and contracts, ensuring execution excellence across scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and cash.A critical component of the role is people leadership - leading, developing, and managing cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects in a demanding engineering environment

People Leadership (Critical Role Requirement):

Provide strong, visible leadership to project and order fulfilment teams.

Lead and manage performance, capability development, and accountability within the team.

Proactively manage conflict resolution, workload prioritisation, and stakeholder tensions to maintain delivery focus.

Coach, mentor, and support team members, creating a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement


Customer & Stakeholder Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Lead engagement on technical and commercial matters, including site visits and customer meetings.

Implement effective communication plans to ensure alignment, transparency, and proactive expectation management.

Manage complex customer interactions and resolve issues professionally while honouring contractual commitments.


Project & Contract Execution:

Carry overall accountability for the successful execution of capital project orders, from initiation through to close-out.

Integrate services across cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams, including sales, planning, engineering, production, branches (local and regional), suppliers, and customers.

Ensure project delivery within contractual scope, budget, and schedule.

Develop and communicate high-level project execution plans and objectives.

Participate in annual strategy planning sessions for the Projects Department


Project Management Excellence:

Drive continuous improvement and governance through the application of best-practice project management frameworks (PMBOK, PRINCE2, ISO 21500).

Provide project management support to other business units, including tender development and technical deliverables.

Ensure effective management of project time, cost, quality, risk, and change

Financial, Risk & Commercial Accountability:

Own project risk management with a strong commercial focus, safeguarding delivery commitments through early risk identification, mitigation planning, and recovery actions to prevent liquidated damages and protect project profitability.

Accountable for achieving project milestones and cash collection targets, in close coordination with the Project Controller/Administrator.

Manage change control processes, ensuring timely identification, evaluation, approval, and implementation of variations.



Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering

  • MEng in Project Management or PMP certification (PMI) or actively working toward certification

  • Qualification or experience in Engineering and/or Technology Management is advantageous


Job Experience Requirements

  • 5 -8 years’ experience in a multidisciplinary engineering or project-house environment

  • Minimum 5 years’ proven project management experience, managing projects from initiation to close-out (small, medium, and large-scale)

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in team leadership, including Performance management (setting goals, monitoring progress, conducting reviews), Conflict management (resolving disputes, fostering collaboration)

  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams, managing performance, and navigating complex stakeholder environments

  • Experience in contractual law within an engineering/project management context

  • Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC Yellow Book contracts is advantageous

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Strong commercial and business acumen

  • High level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)

  • ERP system experience (e.g. SAP, Infor LN) is advantageous

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

  • Ability to manage difficult customers and high-pressure situations effectively

Additional Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s Licence

  • Willingness to travel extensively to mining and project sites within the region
