Enterprise Technology (formerly Global Technology Services) is a global organization within Transamerica.  We provide dedicated support to Transamerica and we bring all of Aegon's business units together through the use of technology. We provide the backbone - the infrastructure - for how everything works. We’re creating the company’s AI environment, building a flexible ‘cloud experience’ for internal hosting services, designing frameworks for data governance and management, and ensuring the security and stability the company’s technology. In short, we enable the business units to move more quickly and deliver to our clients in the best possible way. Whether customers are interested in insurance products or annuities or financial services, we're here to ensure they don't have to worry whether their information is safe.

The people we employ are incredibly diverse, both in terms of backgrounds and skill sets. There are over 1,000 of us representing colleagues located in the UK, the US, the Netherlands, and Hungary, Spain, and Hong Kong.  Our global teams are comprised of experts in the areas such as application development, information security, infrastructure services, data & analytics, risk & controls, procurement, program management, and architecture.  With the breadth of functions within Enterprise Technology, individuals can pursue a wide variety of careers, and we have a focus on supporting employees’ development.  In particular, our Talent Marketplace enables colleagues to take on gigs to broaden their experience and try out different responsibilities, which can be extremely rewarding.

The most important quality in the people who join us is curiosity.  A lot of what we do is problem solving, requiring colleagues to take what they know and apply it to new situations. We have many mature processes, but we’re always looking for opportunities to improve, so we want people who are naturally inquisitive and confident enough to challenge the way we do things.  Technology is constantly, rapidly changing – we need you to help us continue to change with it.

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our team in Edinburgh. Enterprise Technology provides project and programme management, delivery assurance and consulting, health checks and related guidance for key programmes and projects. In this role you will be assigned to various project management support assignments. Due to the global nature of the team, the role may require flexible hours on occasion to accommodate global projects.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, scoping, and defining project objectives — establishing timelines, deliverables, resource needs, and success criteria.
  • Coordination of cross‑functional teams — ensuring developers, analysts, stakeholders, and vendors stay aligned and informed.
  • Managing project budgets and resources.
  • Monitoring risks, issues, and progress.
  • Ensuring successful delivery and stakeholder communication.
  • Driving quality reporting to allow for clear visibility of progress.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience working in a project management role, and you’re motivated by delivering technology initiatives that help the wider business operate securely, efficiently, and at pace. You enjoy taking ownership from early analysis through to successful delivery.
  • A proven ability to manage one or more projects at a time – bringing teams together, defining clear responsibilities, and maintaining practical project plans that balance timelines, budgets, resources, and quality standards. This role involves working closely within an IT or infrastructure environment, partnering with technical teams to achieve outcomes.
  • A strong focus on quality, with the capability to set clear expectations, embed controls into delivery, and produce accurate, transparent reporting on progress, risks, defects, and remediation. You’re confident managing scope and change and know when to escalate to protect delivery outcomes.
  • Demonstrated strength as a communicator who values collaboration—providing clear updates to stakeholders, leading team meetings, and continually looking for ways to improve processes and ways of working.

It’d also be great – but not essential – if you’ve got:

  • Relevant project management certifications such as PRINCE2 and/or PMP, along with a proven track record of working effectively with management and a broad range of stakeholders.
  • The ability to work closely within an IT and infrastructure environment, partnering with technical teams across applications, platforms, cloud, security, and data to deliver reliable, well‑governed outcomes.
  • Background in financial services, particularly pensions, would be a strong advantage, together with an understanding of the regulatory, quality, and risk considerations that come with operating in this environment.

What’s in it for you?

  • We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place.  We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we’ll put in 9%.  If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us).
  • A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance
  • 34 days leave per year (including bank holidays, pro-rated for part-time)

We also offer private medical cover, life assurance, critical illness cover, enhanced parental leave and a variety of lifestyle benefits to help our employees live their best lives, including retail discount vouchers, cycle2work scheme, subsidised restaurant and online GP appointments.  To find out more about what to expect at Aegon, visit our careers site.
