The position combines project execution with Scrum Master responsibilities, supporting multiple software development teams. As part of the PMO, you will help ensure consistent delivery practices, contribute to process improvements, and support ongoing Agile maturity across teams.
This is an ideal opportunity for a midlevel project manager who has experience running Agile teams, is comfortable managing dependencies and risks, and is looking to grow within a collaborative, fast‑paced‑ technology organization.
Plan and manage project goals, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring alignment across Product, Technology, and other stakeholders
Drive execution of software development initiatives, tracking progress, dependencies, and risks
Support Product Management in translating product roadmaps into actionable delivery plans
Serve as Scrum Master for multiple software development teams
Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‑ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives
Support participation in Scaled Agile events, including PI Planning, assisting teams with preparation, dependency tracking, and follow through‑ on objectives
Encourage Agile best practices and continuous improvement within teams
Conduct sprint and project retrospectives, identifying opportunities for improved delivery, collaboration, and efficiency
Contribute to PMO initiatives focused on process consistency, tooling, and reporting improvements
Use existing metrics and dashboards to help teams understand workflow, capacity, and delivery health
Identify and escalate project risks, issues, and dependencies in a timely manner
Communicate project status clearly to team members and stakeholders
Build trust and strong working relationships across Product, Engineering, and partner teams
3–6 years of experience as a Project Manager and Scrum Master supporting software development teams.
Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) is a must.
Hands ‑on experience working in Agile environments, with exposure to traditional project management approaches
Experience supporting Scaled Agile delivery, including participation in PI Planning or cross-team‑ coordination
Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities in a fast-paced‑, evolving environment
Strong communication, organization, and problem solving‑ skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, manage differing perspectives, and keep teams focused on delivery outcomes
Experience working with distributed or global teams
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or similar Agile certification
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field
Working knowledge of JIRA for backlog management, reporting, and workflow tracking
Experience using Asana or similar project tracking tools
Prior experience in a SAFe or Scaled Agile environment
Experience supporting UAT, release, and go-live activities
Experience leveraging Agile metrics to monitor delivery and support decision-making
Familiarity with data flows, integrations, and system interactions
This position is in Morningstar's corporate headquarters in Chicago and requires four days per week in office.
